This $5 product is a must for nalgene bottles! Especially the 1L nalgene bottles that are known to drench you while drinking from them, especially if there is ice inside it! Unlike the nalgene splashguard this one fits very snug and stays in place, even with vigorous shaking!! An absolute must companion to the 1L nalgene bottles 🙂

I've had these a few weeks and sent them through several use-wash cycles for a single unit. They have a tighter fit to the standard 32 oz Nalgene Water Bottle than the Splash Guard brand product, which means I can abuse the bottle a bit more.My primary use is for a side-line water-bottle, so being able to toss my bottle to the side and know the Hydrapak is not going to fall down into the water-bottle is important. I'm trusting these more with their fit than other models I've tried. Overall, they are a bit more firm, which is nice, and don't seem to require as much delicacy when moving around my water bottle

This splash guard works fine with my Nalgene-brand water bottles and do as advertised - prevent too much water from coming out too fast and causing over-spill when drinking from a Nalgene. The material is soft and flexible and easy to install/remove and wash.I will note that unlike the picture, the HydraPak logo is embossed on the surface and not printed at all. The resulting texture does get gunky and requires a tad more scrubbing but is perhaps a good reminder to wash the thing in the first place.

I often wonder why I didn’t buy one of these before this purchase. I actually have a couple of these now. I used to try to drink from my large mouth Nalgene and often found that I dripped on myself or because I was attempting to be so careful, that the water couldn’t come out fast enough. I buy this splash guard and it changed my world! I can drink from my bottles with no spills, no no wet chin or shirt from drips, and I can drink fast from my Nalgenes. I find that this splash guard makes it SO easy to drink that I can drink all 32 ounces very quickly.I do hand wash this, but it is dishwasher friendly. I find that when I let the dishwasher do the work, that it comes out smelling like my detergent, which very off putting. So hand washing this is really the way to go and it takes like ten seconds. It fits perfectly in a 32 ounce wide mouth bottle and if you push it into the bottle, it floats and is easy to fish out.

This not just prevents splashes from the nalgene, but it makes it a really great drinking experience compared to a wide mouth bottle or even a "chug cap" bottle. The drinking spout is perfectly shaped and the holes in the back allow airflow, which makes for excellent sipping, chugging, and pouring. It stays put too - you can shake your full nalgene as hard as you can and it won't fall into the bottle.I haven't tried the official nalgene splash guard product but it doesn't have the spout or air inlet holes that this one offers, so I doubt it works as well. Plus this one is silicone so it's easy to clean and unbreakable.

The cap fits my Hydro flask light weight series bottle with standard mouth very well. I’ve used it for few trips and it worked perfectly. As it’s soft silicon, it can push down if more pressure is applied, otherwise it stays at the top and works well.

I bought this to replace my humangear capcap which worked great but would feel of a nasty mildew smell no matter how much I cleaned it. I use this with the original Nalgene lid and so far so good! For my 40oz Nalgene and Takeya tritan bottles it fits nice and snug. Have not had an issue with it falling into the bottle or falling out during normal use. A lip around the top would completely negate the possibility of it falling in but for Mr it is not necessary. It also works great on pasta jars if you want to recycle them as drink containers lol. No mold so far but I also don't make lip contact and just waterfall everything. I do see the raised lettering as a potential mold playground as mentioned in other reviews if you use it with non-water drinks and don't clean it regularly. The vent holes work great for smooth pouring. No tears or breakage yet, and it seems durable enough where it won't be an issue. I imagine it wouldn't stand up very well as a pet chew toy though. I originally considers buying Nalgene's splash guard but wanted something pliable and not plastic. I do not regret going with this one!
