I've been using this one on and off for a while, but it came back into play more recently, and I have to say it's not a bad microphone for the price. I've used it in multiple modes, and feel like it performs best either in single-direction mode or in bi-directional mode -- if both participants are reasonably close together. It doesn't isolate from noise as well as a couple other microphones that I have, less so in omni-directional mode.Physically, it's light and easily transportable (I've brought it back and forth from the office in my computer bag, but probably should find a legit case). It's shell is plastic, but that doesn't seem to compromise anything. It comes with its own stand, but that can be removed and the provided hardware lets you mount to a mic stand or a mic boom easily.Connectivity is over USB, and I know there's software, but I can't really speak to that. I've used it exclusively on a Mac, and primarily with web based audio and video platforms. It could not be easier to use. Plug. And play. Depending on your app, you might have to tweak some settings to make the iRig your mic. Audacity and Audition both require at least a little fidgeting, but, if you're using them, you know that's not difficult and that this mic, in that respect, is no different than any other. All in all, I like the mic and the sound quality, and recommend it for someone who wants good sound and ease-of-use at a price that won't break the bank.

Very clear sound. The mic is made of a strudy material. It has had a couple drops and still works great. Its very easy to set up and use. I highly recommend this product.

Ik Multi Media's iRig Stream Mic has some really cool features. Not only does it provide a excellent full rounded sound, but the fact you can mix in audio through the built in aux jack is a cool feature. It also has loopback plus feature that lets you add effects to your voice. They include cardioid, omnidirectional, figure 8 and stereo polar pickup patterns. It comes with all the cables to hook up via lightning cable or USB-C. However, if you want to hook it up to a computer without a type c port, you will need to get a separate adapter for usb C to usb A. These are cheap, but they should have provided one of these or simply included a mini-DIN to USB-A. The other thing is, you will need to use a pop filter, because there is no built in pop filter with this mic. I like the mic a lot, but I would have preferred and XLR input as opposed to a mini-DIN connector. The mic is lightweight with a nice sturdy stand that is easy to transport. Overall, I'm happy with the performance and audio recording of this mic. It has plenty of features not found in other mics and is awesome for streaming.

Not a power user by any means, so this all-in-one solution from a reliable brand name was definitely plenty handy. It comes in a relatively simple box that contains only the bare necessities. The microphone is made mostly of plastic, which makes it relatively lightweight compared to what I was expecting. It uses a standard thread on the side that is used to attach it to the included weighted desk stand. Additionally, they have included an adapter to use it with other microphone mounting solutions, like a boom arm. For my purposes, I am using it with my PC using the included cable. It uses a proprietary port on the back of the microphone that connects to a type-C port on my PC.Once plugged it, the microphone is immediately ready to use. You can change a variety of settings using the rotary knob, such as mic gain, headphone volume, polar pattern, streaming, etc. For my purposes, I have it connected only to use as a microphone. Using the different gain settings on my PC, I was able to use the microphone with my desktop speakers without feedback loop issues. I have been able to record dialogue, as well as communicate over the internet without any issues.Happy with the microphone's performance.

I guess ik Multimedia didn't think that anyone would use this microphone with a desktop computer. They included adapters for Lightning and USB-C but not USB-A which most desktops with any age on them have as their main interface. This meant that I could not try it out right away, since I didn't have their strange DIN to USB adapter. I will get around to rating the performance of the microphone when I finally get an adapter. Yes, people still use desktops and still want a microphone other than the builtin desktop microphone.

I was so bummed I couldn’t get this thing to work; the lack of documentation definitely didn’t help, and there is a lack of helpful videos to reference how to actually use this thing. The software you need to download has a pretty steep learning curve and, despite our best efforts, we could not get the mic to output the sound that it apparently recorded.

I'm using this microphone to teach online lessons and record live. The figure 8 patterns allows me to pick up the sound of the piano or guitar amp in the room as well as my voice: the stereo option would work well for this application as well. There are connection cables for USB-C and for iPhone/Lightning. I took it to record a rehearsal and a show over the weekend and it was cool to have a portable true stereo solution with input control. There is literally one knob that controls mic gain, muting, headphone output, polar pattern, high-pass filter, and all the routing possibilities of the mic and the line inputs. The LEDs make it clear what menu is selected and the LEDs around the knob itself show the input level, output level, and the various states of the state of the high-pass filter. It comes with the stand shown in the photo, so that's a good option for desktop use, but there is an included adaptor to use with a traditional mic stand.Overall, it seems like they thought of everything.
