As I noted in another review, we managed to break two boat hooks last month--one failed the the plastic hook "business end". I decided to construct a very strong replacement that wouldn't leave me with a broken tool at a delicate moment, and intended to epoxy this stainless hook to a nice wooden pole. However, I discovered an exceptional carbon fiber pole here on Amazon (made by DOBEN) -- very strong, very light weight (and somewhat expensive). My other review mentions my approach to attaching them in removable fashion.For the purpose of reviewing the actual boat hook itself, I say that it is solid, well polished, and a very nice shape and size. I am quite likely to purchase another so that I can get back to having a pair of good boathooks. I am pleased with this product.

I bought a wooden shovel handle, reshaped the taper and installed this hook. Makes a great gaff for a small fishing boat

The boat hook is well made, stainless is non-magnetic so should be good quality. After a few crabbing trips recovering buoys will tell how rust resistant. Does make the pole a bit top heavy.

Decent product. I replaced the broken tip on an old aluminum boat hook that I liked.This tip has a couple of holes predrilled in it. I did a test fit, then bonded this tip to the pole with JB Weld. Once the JB set, drilled out the holes and tapped the pole for #10-24 machine screws. Better than new.
