I used to play guitar a lot when I was younger. A family and a full time job, didn’t really have time for it anymore. Older now, kid out of the house, decided it’s time to start playing again. Always enjoyed it, it’s a great stress reliever. Anyway, I have had a cheap Epiphone Les Paul I hate that I could play if I really wanted to, but it’s awful. Used to have some nice guitars. Had a limited edition BC Rich neck thru NJ Beast with a Floyd Rose speed loader trem, had a BC Rich Warlock before that. My first guitar was a Jackson also. I heavily regret selling my Beast as it was arguably the pinnacle of death metal guitars.I started shopping for guitars, my plan was to get a BC Rich bronze series Warlock. Tells you how long it’s been since I bought a good guitar, over 20 years. So BC Rich doesn’t make anything reasonably priced anymore. So started looking for a budget guitar I could play that’s set up for death metal. I wanted a new guitar. I was looking at used guitars, and decided that’s a terrible idea. Knowing that Jackson’s are decent guitars and sound great for metal, I grabbed this model after doing some research. There were two other options I considered, one an ESP and another an Ibanez. Went with the Jackson because I know they sound good. The price is great for what you get. The action is very easy to play for a budget guitar. Dual humbuckers sound really good, with a range of bass to high frequency to suit your taste. It’s got a fulcrum tremolo bridge. Personally I could leave the tremolo bridge, they’re more of a pain to keep in tune. This particular bridge only has the downward pitch. The paint is surprisingly nice. I was very impressed by the finish for the price. 24 frets, although I almost never get to the bottom 4 frets, it’s always good to have the option. The frets on the fretboard transition very smoothly. I’ve played guitars before that don’t, my Epiphone for one. The easier the fretboard is to navigate, the less stress on your hands. The inlays are easy to see. I’m not a pro so I have to look to see where I’m at. One nice little feature is there’s some dots on the side of the fretboard to mark the inlaid frets. That’s a very nice touch in a budget guitar. The knobs, switch, and tuners are all budget, but not too cheaply made. They work just fine without feeling flimsy. The main things with this guitar are, you get two humbuckers, a well made fretboard, and a surprisingly nice paint job for a budget price. It’s a great guitar for anyone starting off if you want to play heavy metal, or if you want a second guitar. If you’re highly skilled, you should get something better. This is a great starter guitar, but if you’re already good and you want to get better, think about spending more money on something nicer. Unfortunately with the economy and the price of guitars now. You’re gonna spend $1000 - $1200 on a guitar you could have gotten for half that 20 years ago.The box it came in kept it safe, made it to me undamaged. I was nervous about that. Got mine in winter, the neck isn’t warped or messed up from the cold, another concern I had. Just a good budget guitar. I usually don’t give out 5 star ratings, but this is a good value.

This guitar was not only double-boxed by Jackson, but the seller also bubble wrapped THAT and sealed within a THIRD box. That baby was sealed as tight as Fort Knox - OUTSTANDING! The guitar itself was needless to say in flawless condition, with tags on the tuning keys and plastic over the pick-ups. Plays very smooth and fast with that nice flat neck radius. The finish is flawless as well. Hmmm, haven't plugged her in yet... Being a Jackson, like my others I'm sure she rocks. Plenty of videos to back that up!

A super guitar out of the box. I am very happy that the guitar was double boxed as the outer box was really beaten during shipping. Super sound for the price. Really sharp guitar.

I have several guitars. most are in the mid to high mid class ($500$1000). but I wanted a cheap strat style with the 25.5 scale length so I could drop to b standard, which I don't play all the time. Right out of the box I loved it. the action and harmonics were good, and thought it was really nice for the money but hoped it could do what I needed. so I put heavy gauge (jim root dunlop) strings and dropped it down to b and it does really well. AS most musicians will tell you, you cant expect too much for this cheap a guitar, but the fact that its heavy and solid enough to hold the gauge and tuning that I used it in is almost incredible. I still still plan on a new bridge pick up and some grover tuners to complete it, but its a lot cheaper than a baritone and I hate playing 7 strings. so this was win. thanks jackson and amazon

I sold my other guitar which was a Les Paul and only 2 years old as I felt I could not adjust the action properly to play fast and at the same time not have buzzing/dead frets. This plays like a charm right out of the box. I feel they have done an excellent job to set the action properly so you can start playing without having a professional setup. And sounds good too.

guitar was in overall good shape besides the Low E string having a dent near the bridge and causing fretbuzz, not sure if it was jackson or delivery who caused it

This is s great guitar for the price. It's very resonant, the neck is fast, frets are done well, the pickups are solid. The only thing I would suggest is to get a 25 dollar set of inline locking tuners. These tuning machines are about as cheap as they come and my D string button kept falling off of the stem. The locking tuners basically fixed any issues. 225 for a really solid playing guitar is not bad. Also throw some cleaner and polish on the body. Makes a huge difference in feel. Last thing, take some steel wool to the back of the neck if yours is a bit scratchy. Some 0000 or 000 steel wool for a few minutes and it'll feel like glass.

Eine tolle Gitarre Anfänger und vorgeschrittene Player die in Richtung Metal tendieren und auf verzerrte Sounds wert legen. Die Verarbeitung ist super! Konnte bei mir keine Mängel feststellen.

I bought this guitar and I sold it for some reason and I buy and sell a lot of guitars. This was THE only guitar that I ever regret selling. I tried to buy it again online and it was sold out for 7 months. The second I saw it was back, I got it again. I'm never selling it again. The guitar is fantastic out of the box. I lowered the string height even more and it still played great with zero issues. The only thing I would do is change the strings, polish the frets, oil the fretboard and change the pickups. It's worth doing in my opinion.
