I'm just learning how to do some repairs on flutes, and the springs have been a little tricky since they can get a little brittle when trying to remove them. Sometimes, the spring breaks too close to the post to grab, and this tool has helped me twice to be able to push it through so that I could grab the end. I don't have anything to compare it to, but it has been worth the money to me. The hardest part is finding the opening where the spring comes out to know where to position the pointed end of the tool, but once you do that, it's as simple as gripping the handle and letting the tool push it back through. I think it will get easier with time and practice.

This is not a perfect tool, but I only had to remove one broken spring from my sax, and it did the job. It is a good looking tool though, but the pin pushing out the broken spring is not a very high quality piece. I do not expect better quality for $14. I do not know how long this would stay in working condition if someone used it every day, but I will not use it too many times, so I think it resolved my sax spring problems for my entire life.Yes, I would recommend this tool to purchase, but possibly not for pros.

I didn't expect much for an instrument repair tool in this price range. There were some places where it worked great, and some places where it didn't work at all. I would say that you get what you pay for. If I was a professional instrument repair person, I would invest in a higher quality tool. Being a hobbyist, who mostly disassembles parts for crafting, it mostly works for me.
