I have the same fan on one of my other Harley Davidson’s. This recent purchase was installed on a 1996 fat boy, The fan works as advertised to lower the head temperature about 100°. This is the third fan I’ve installed on Harley Davidsons And highly recommend this fan.

I really like this cooling fan. It works as advertised. I've had it on my motorcycle for almost 5 years now and 30000 hard driven miles in rain and all kinds of weather. The fan motor wore out after 5 years which is not to be unexpected. I have attempted to get a replacement fan motor from both Jims and Powersports. With no cooperation from either. It's too bad I would like to, number one repair this fan and number two buy an additional fan for my other bike. But what would be the point if you cannot get replacement parts for things that normally wear out?I have tried multiple other retailers suggested by Jims but they are not willing to order the replacement part either. Again Jim says it's available Jims will not provide it directly they say to get it from the dealers and the dealers of Jims parts will not supply me with it.

Hi the unit was shipped really fast , it was we'll designed to fit the bike esthetics , and it does a great job cooling the bike I was really sold on the unit until it was time to use the horn .That is when I found out the installation job was not finish .There is no way you can safely ride you're bike using this horn . For the price that the unit cost and how nice it looks I can't understand how they decided to use such a lousy horn

Yep..It works...let me get that out of the way first. It works, and works well. After building up and Hot Rodding my 2007 Twin Cam Road King, (Feuling Oil Pump, Billet Cam Plate, Woods 55 Cams, Fuel Moto Push Rods, head work and 103ci top end, PV1 Fuel Management) , my bike, which had always run hot as it was, (Stock 96ci) became pretty unbearable. Routinely hitting 300 degrees + temps, hitting the oil breakdown point more than once (Red Line 20/50 and even 20/60 Synthetic)I wasted time and money doing the Jagg Fan Assisted Oil Coolers. First one was the one low mounted. No air flow and no way to keep it from leaking...no room under there...so I then went with the Side-mount. Aside from it was fugly it also had issues with leaking and I also never understood how the fan would point forward into the wind and then when I was going at speed how that was supposed to work etc. They maybe reduced the temp 10 or so degrees...which really didn't help all that much.So after looking at the reviews for the Lenale and also the Wards Fans, Love Jugs etc...was a little concerned when I didn't see to many reviews for this Jims Flowforce, but a couple I did see were pretty detailed, so gave it a shot.Fairly easy installation, if you know your way around a wrench, should be able to do this, no issues. Then went for a ride....around Chicago...in almost stopped dead traffic. I usually hit the shoulders or bicycle lanes but always have to keep an eye out for the law. This time, just stopped, go, stopped go etc... Fan kicked in the way it was supposed to and I kept checking my temp gauge. 10 miles of this and usually my EITMS kicked in, and usually pushed 320 degrees or so like this....this time, with the fan running...only hit like 220. Thinking maybe this was a cooler day or something...took it back to the shop...unplugged the fan, and hit the road again...let it hit 300...stopped, plugged it back in...sat there...not moving. Watched it steadily drop until it hit like 240 or so in just about 5 or 6 mins...then rode it some and it dropped back lower to the 220 range... so I have to give it its props. So for less than the $450 cost of the Fan-assisted oil coolers, which only give me maybe 10 degrees off (they *say 20) this whacked approx. 80 or so off my oil temp gauge.Buy it. It works.P.S> I did notice a negative review on this, from someone named Len Nale...with positive comments on (what a coincidence) the Lenale Cooling Fan. Coming from someone using the same name...and as no *verified* purchase noted, and no other reviews on anything, anything at all... I'd probably file that under "ignore". All the verified purchasers, seem to like this as much as I did. And I have also over the last summer picked up another, for another bike I picked up, a 2010 Dyna, and am equally as happy. It also made a fine warming fan leaving the bike running over the freezing winter on our Toys for Tots run, while hanging in the staging area. :)

I researched the two main Harley-Davidson cooling fans on the market--this unit (fairly new to the market) and the LeNale cooling fan, which costs about $100 less and has been around for awhile. Much of the feedback on the LeNale unit was negative--short lifespan and unreliability in wet conditions. I decided on this one.I had a mechanic install this unit for me on my 2012 H-D Tri Glide. It's a rather complicated procedure (I'm rather new to Harley-Davidson), and what would have taken me at least a day was done in a couple of hours by a good mechanic. If you are mechanically familiar with working on H-D twin-cams, then the procedure should be relatively easy. An added bonus is that this unit includes a replacement horn inside, so you don't have to relocate the original horn, as you do for the LeNale cooler. Now, the cooler: It works as advertised. The Tri Glide in particular (at about 1,200 lbs.) is heavy and works the engine more than, say, the relatively lighter Electra Glide Ultra (about 900 lbs.). The cooler looks good on the bike--I like that it's black with tasty chrome highlights rather than all chrome. Where you will notice the difference is in heavy stop-an-go traffic or riding around a town with lots of stop signs and lights. On warm days, especially, the heat can build up rather quickly and become uncomfortable. Mind you, Harleys are built to run hot and have done so successfully for more than a century, but that doesn't mean they have to or that it's comfortable. The thermostat turns on the fan automatically when the engine reaches a certain temperature, which drops fairly quickly, even around town.If you do mostly long-distance touring and very little local riding, you may not need a cooling fan, which is not cheap. Otherwise, I recommend this cooler, and it will only add the the resale value of your motorcycle.UPDATE: I've been using this for about a month now. Again, it works as advertised, although I have noticed that it works better for me without the fairing lowers. With them installed, the fan actually seems to blow the hot air off the engine onto my right lower leg, even a high speeds. Without the fairing lowers, I don't seem to have that problem. I also installed a pair of , which of course allow me to move my legs away from the engine while cruising. I'm still happy with this product!
