These strainers are great. They hold a lot and are so versatile. I know the description says they are paint strainers; however, I am not using for that purpose. I am moving to a more plant-based diet, and these strainers are great for grains, fruits and vegetables especially when preparing items for meal prep. They are quality stainless steel and wash up incredibly well.

After a several year hiatus I have started roasting coffee for myself again. I dug out my old roaster, but a number of accessories had gone missing over the years, so I decided to recreate an item that has a great deal to do with the length of time the beans are roasted - when you like dark roasts, thirty seconds either way can have a substantial impact on the flavor of the brew. The accessory in question is a post roast cooler that reduces the temperature of the roasted beans very quickly and stops any residual roasting. To make the cooler I I start with a 3.5 gallon plastic bucket, I cut a hole a couple of inches above the bottom and connect my shop vac to it, then I put the sieves on top of the bucket. When I want to cool the roasted beans, I pour the beans into the top sieve, turn on the shop vac, and stir the beans until they are cool. They drop below roasting temperature almost immediately and cool to room temperature in just a few minutes. The greatest advantage of this method is repeat-ability; once I have established a roast I like, I can reproduce the timing very closely, and repeat my preferred roast.

I do a LOT of cooking and canning. Some of what I make, requires straining that a regular strainer can't handle. The holes are simply too big. For instance, homemade chicken stock. You really need a fine strainer to prevent chunks of stuff from slipping through the holes.That's where these bad boys come in. They're perfect for doing large batches, and the handles allow the strainers to sit flat on top of a large pot. I can pour my stock into the strainer and it separates the stuff I'm gonna discard, from the delicious bone stock I'll be canning.The fact that you get TWO large strainers for this price, is amazing! You can't beat the price and quality - especially with them being food safe!

For the price this is excellent. It's solid with a good mesh that's pretty heavy gauge. The handles are welded on and that is visible, but not anything to be concerned about. It's a nice stainless steel and will hold up well.
