Great idea but, it does not work for blue herons. They sink and needs to be attached with string. I would of returned them but, did not install until after the return period.

A few visits from a heron depleted our pond of frogs once again and we wanted something not too obvious or unsightly to try protect any lucky survivors. I started clipping together the pieces at the garden table but soon realised my mistake as it's better to try and create the shape of the pond by clipping the sections together at the pond edge. Fiddly to do, but the shape of the pieces allow a bit of design work. It floats well and isn't as unsightly as netting. It has blended in well. Importantly, I feel that frogs aren't going to get caught up in it. As for the heron, I haven't seen it since and that's been a couple of months now. Maybe it's down to the floating protection, maybe that's just the way nature works.

I bought these in 2021 as our pond was not completed. This year I was excited to place these in our beautiful pond to deter cats, birds and other predators. They floated for a couple of hours and then sank! They were standing on end, half in and half out of the water, some sank to the bottom. We took them out and tried clipping them together - the results were worse. They were bowed up at the clips - again half in and half out. What a mess. My return window of course is closed - my fault -I should have tried them when I purchased. $40 politely thrown away. I only gave one star because there wasn't an option for NO stars. Horrible product - do not waste your money - they do NOT work.

I’m really upset that I purchased these now because I can’t find them! They were floating for a few days and when I went out there this morning they’re not far to be found. My pond is atleast 5 feet deep so now I’m going to have to dig around and try to find them! Not happy with this purchase at all.

At first I thought these would work out great for my small 300 gallon outdoor ponds... I have fancy goldfish and almost daily had to go out to rescue a fish from on top of the screens... Fish eat bugs from the surface of the water... DO NOT use these unless you're prepared to rescue your fish from them.

Ideal in the pond, much better looking than a net.

Have not had the opportunity to put them to use yet but I believe they will be perfect. I will keep them from moving by strategically tying fish line to the plastic pieces and anchoring them to my landscape lights. I plan on leaving an opening in front of the waterfall and the skimmer. Fingers crossed. I’ve been chasing a heron away almost daily!

Bought these to add to a set previously bought on Amazon. They connect and float on surface flawlessly as advertised. My pond has fish and this was primarily bought to deter herons as we’ve had one clear a pond at a previous home. Heron was disturbed on Monday morning and flew off thought these had worked. My wife caught heron this morning again and it had stood on these and they had sunk to bottom of pond and he had taken some of our fish.

In a pond with moving water they don't work very well , the clips let them overlap each other and move about to much .
