Been using this for years. I've heard that you should always use a new one on a new chain. I have never had a problem re-using on multiple chains. However I check for wear each time and use a new one every 3 or 4 chains regardless of wear. A new one can be very hard to engage but it will loosen up.

I've used these like 10+ times on various bikes and speeds. Normally, these are awesome but for whatever reason, this time - it was awful. I was putting it on a 10speed KMC ultralight chain that came with the same exact quick link from KMC when I bought it. I simply wanted to extend 2 links. It literally took an hour and a whole lot of futzing around to get the thing on and I still don't known why but I am going to be reluctant to take that one apart. It was like the pins were slightly too short or something. I use these because I wax my chain and like to be able to pop it off easily and often to re-wax it.

I order this because the description says 2 pairs. It didn’t come in a box rather plastic bag which also says two pairs, but only 1 pair was in it. Lastly, the product came late. L

Works across sram shimano and campag chains. Wouldn’t risk ‘re use claim’ If is gonna fail it will on Hardknott Pass!!!
