This is a genuine Kohler part, 1016453-CP and has the dimple on the top just as the original. I note this as it's not evident in the product pic.I saw a comment that this doesn't come with instructions - it's a replacement part from the manufacturer and the manual can be found online.Basic stepes:- remove handle (set screw under handle, allen key needed)- remove sleeve, unscrew collar (shown in pic)- trim out old silicone- install new button and use allen key to tighten- reassemble and apply new siliconeIn any case, I didn't even bother removing the handle, pics attached.If you're reading this, don't do what I did and put off buying this, just buy it and get the job done!

It did the job well, and was used for a tub and shower valve.

Worked perfectly. Saw someone complaining that it does not come with instructions. Nor does a light switch. :) If you own pliers & a screwdriver and have access to Google, you can replace the part yourself. If not, call a plumber.
