For a lead bringing up a second this thing is unbeatable. Also great as a friction adder for raps if needed.

So much easier to belay off anchor than atc guide. Using for rappel works fine, so far had enough friction down to 9mm double strand rappel using an autoblock - add extra biner if needed. Another huge plus is for rappel, I girth hitch one of the loops on the device to my sling on belay loop, for multi pitch raps you never have to take device off from the sling, I never have to worry about dropping it! If belay from above often or do so w/ 2 followers, get this device! It's so simple and works great.

I was getting elbow pain from pulling fat ropes through my Petzl Reverso when belaying the second off the anchor on multi-pitch climbs. The larger channels on this device alleviated the problems since slack can be taken up much more easily. When using the device with skinnier ropes (below about a 9.8mm diameter), the device must be setup slightly different than you might expect. I finally had a chance to give this a whirl on multi pitch yesterday and so am happy to report that it functions like I hoped it would. On one belay I pulled all the slack through the Gigi after setting up the anchor to see how it would perform in a situation where I was out of sight/hearing and was not unhappy with how it went. Pulling in slack through this device definitely was easier than other devices that I'm familiar with when in guide mode and locking and unlocking was easier to manage. Great device (especially considering the price!).
