Just as expected. Highest grade of quality and security for my ebike. Worth it to protect my investment.

The lock itself is hefty so be aware this is not a light item. I love the dust cover over the lock. It is easy to use and very secure. I do wish I could have the yellow area in other colors, but that'd just a personal preference. Overall they did it again with another great bike lock!

The first thing I did was use a wire brush on the keys, they were very rough. Once the edges were "lightly” buffed up, the keys when into the lock very easily. The lock must be pushed all the way onto the two posts of the ring. The key must also be inserted fully into the lock before trying to turn the key. Following this the lock works well.

Not sure it needs a review, it's a pretty famous product. Feels like a ridiculously strong lock. It's heavy but I'm always carrying a backpack so it's fine. It's expensive, but not as expensive as losing your bike. Easy to open and lock too.

Super strong although heavy to carry in your pannier but unfortunately top security is needed when you have an e bike!

Heavy duty lock, I may or may have not used it as a mallet on a few occasions. Keys have a button function that emits a blue spot light which helps find the lock port in the dark (included spare key has the same feature). I have put this lock through boatloads of abuse and it's still working 8 years later.

This is a large U-lock with plenty of reach between my frame and back wheel to secure it. The best place I've found to carry it is on my handle bars threaded over my handle bar extension.

Das Kryptonite New York LS ist nur eines von vielen Schlössern, in dieser Qualitätsstufe, die ich besitze. Das Schloss macht einen sehr massiven Eindruck und wie man es diversen Testergebnissen entnehmen kann scheint es auch sehr widerstandsfähig gegen Aufbruchversuche zu sein. Also genau das was man von einem Schloss dieser Preisklasse erwartet. Zudem ist es gegenüber anderen Schlössern dieser Klasse recht preiswert, ich habe es für 69,66 EURO erworben.Das Schloss wird mit drei Schlüssel geliefert und ohne Halterung. Der größte Vorteil den ich gegenüber den meisten Konkurrenzprodukten sehe ist in mein Augen zugleich auch der größte Nachteil dieses Schlosses. Das Schloss besitzt eine recht schmale Bügelbreite, Diese kompakte Bauform ist von Vorteil wenn es darum geht das Schloss am Fahrrad zu befestigen oder es zu transportieren. Zudem kommt dies der Aufbruchsicherheit zugute. Kritisch wird es dann wenn man versucht sein Fahrrad an einem dickeren Rohr (Laterne) zu sichern. Da kann es schon mal eng werden. An Verkehrsschilder passt es allerdings.Zusätzlich gibt es von Kryptonite zum Schloss auch noch eine für ein Jahr kostenlose Fahrradpolice dazu, welche online abgeschlossen werden kann. Diese kann verlängert werden, ist aber dann nach dem ersten Jahr Kostenpflichtig. Alleine die Tatsache dass der Hersteller eine solche Police anbietet gibt mir das Gefühl, das der Hersteller hinter seinem Produkt steht - finde ich richtig gut:-). Abgedeckt wird der Grundpreis bzw. der anteilige Grundpreises des Fahrrades, in Abhängigkeit der Sicherheitsstufe des erworbenen Schlosses. Diese Stufen sind von 1 - 10 gestaffelt. Das Kryptonite New York LS ist vom Hersteller der Sicherheitsstufe 9 von 10 zugeordnet, was im Schadensfall eine hohe Deckung bedeutet. Dies ist nur eine grobe Beschreibung der Police, genaueres ist der WEB Site des Hersteller zu entnehmendes.Fazit,Massiv, Preiswert plus dem Mehrwert der enthaltenen Police. Ich würde das Schloss wieder Kaufen und kann es guten Gewissens anderen Interessenten weiterempfehlen.

Not so easy to carry but very strong lock that you can use anywhere.

I will start my review by saying that as expected, the lock is extremely sturdy and heavy, weighing 4 pounds 5 ounces and comes with three keys. The shackle is 3/4" thick and the locking mechanism is 1 1/2" in diameter, which is a great deterrent for most of the opportunity bike theft situations since it should be extremely hard for someone to defeat the lock without the use of some power tools. The interior dimensions of the shackle are 4" wide and 10 1/4" from the top center bottom of the shackle to the top of the yellow locking mechanism which is longer and wider than most. The yellow locking mechanism also removes completely from the double-post shackle when unlocked which allows for easy securement of the the frame and rear tire (and the front tire if you remove it) to most posts. The lock exterior dimensions are 6 5/8" x 12 7/8".The entire U-lock is coated with a durable vinyl coating, which has held up well even after the lock falling off of the bike twice after being jolted off by heavy bumps. My only gripe is the black cover on the locking mechanism rotates easily if twisted and can keep the shackle from locking, not a very big issue if you handle the locking mechanism by the yellow cover instead when placing and removing the lock. The bottom of the lock has a sliding key hole cover which is easy to operate and locks in and out place. The lock uses a high-security type key which makes the lock very pick-resistant and should be far more secure than the previous round tumbler designs from Kryptonite (some can be opened using a Bic pen!). One of the keys has a built in LED light which is very bright if you need to use it at night. If you register the lock key code on Kryptonite's Website you can receive a replacement should you ever lose the keys that come with the lock. The theft guarantee had too many restrictions to be useful, so I wouldn't use that as a primary reason to purchase this lock.The reason I didn't rate the lock 5-stars is at first the locking mechanism would stick at times, making it difficult to remove the key. I used some silicone spray in the key hole which has definitely helped. The other issue is that since this is such a large and heavy lock, finding somewhere to secure it on your bike isn't easy. I hang the lock from a bracket on the handlebars that is for a front basket and the weight of the lock is sufficient to keep it from moving unless you go over a very large bump in the road. Overall this would be an excellent and high security lock for anyone leaving a bicycle unattended for long periods of time or in a high crime area. For other situations like a quick trip to the store it's probably overkill, but is great for piece of mind as long as you don't mind the added weight on your bike and have a way to carry it.If you don't have a convinient place to carry the lock on your bicycle and don't mind a shorter length U-lock, the might be a better choice since it basically a shorter (4" x 8") and a bit lighter (3.9lbs) version of the New York LS U-Lock, with the same 16mm shackle and includes a bracket to mount the lock on your bike.

I wasn't sure whether to get this lock or a slightly smaller one, as I wanted to make sure I could lock up two bikes, but this seemed like over kill. Turns out that this worked perfectly! I can easily lock up two bikes with this lock, and feel the security of a Kryptonite lock.Pros:-big enough to lock up two bikes to any post-fits nicely on the rear rack of my bike-very durable material, can tell that it's not easy to cut through, tamper with, etc.-3 keys! and one of them has a built in LED light, so I'm not worried about losing them anytime soondCons:-heavy-big (which works out well for me since it sits nicely on my bike's rear rack (I tie it down with a few bungees), but if I were trying to hold it in a pocket or backpack or something that might be a different story)-That little latch that covers the keyhole can be a pain to move sometimes, but it does offer additional securityOverall, the price increase from a regular kryptonite to this one probably isn't worth it for most people, and I'm not even sure if it's worth it for me, but with a bike lock I guess it's one of those things you wouldn't know about until it goes missing. With this lock, I feel pretty confident that my bike is not going to go missing.
