The Kryptonite New York Lock Standard U-Lock features a 16 mm hardened max performance steel shackle with a double deadbolt anti-rotation design that resists bolt cutters and twisting leverage attacks. This u-lock is massive, heavy and well-constructed. Cable is good quality too, and long enough for awkward locking situations or a couple passes around the bike and rack, through wheels, etc. I wanted the best lock for my son’s e-bike investment and I’m pretty satisfied that I found it.

This is an easy-to-use, high quality lock that you can feel confident will keep your bike secure. It's expensive but the quality is clear to see and a small price to pay for peace of mind, especially when commuting.The U-lock is very sturdy and slots smoothly together. The lock is very heavy, which makes it a bit less appealing if you're carrying in a backpack or similar, but it can also be fitted to the bike frame when not in use if preferred.The additional loop cable is long and easy to manoeuvre. It can be used to form loops around tyres and frame, allowing you to secure more points on the bike and increase the difficulty for opportunistic thieves; the loop ends then fit neatly through the U-lock to hold in place.The supplied lock key is fitted with a bright blue light to help lock/unlock in darker situations.All in all, very happy, great purchase that will last a long time.

I have used the lock a few times and like many bicycle riders I would rather the lock remain untested, since testing means they were at least trying to take my bicycle.

Very secure, heavy duty lock with with a thick hardened steel shackle. The locking mechanism is a bit sticky, but has never fully failed. Downside is that the lock is quite heavy, and odds serious weight to your bike, but this is the cost of security.

This U Lock is very high quality. It appears to have two hardened steel sleeves with a zinc plated action housing inside, very heavy, positive locking, and thick coating. The mounting system is trash, very convoluted install and the mount is too tight to be of any use. I tossed the mount as soon as I decided to keep the lock. The steel cable seems to be of good quality, I doubt it would stand up to bolt cutters but most cables don't, they're more of a deterent from a grab and run than a theft of a high dollar item like an eBike, eScooter, or Mountain Bike.

Honestly I purchased this lock because it comes with theft insurance. A friend of mine purchased a new e-bike and had it stolen the first day that he took it to work. This lock is beefy and heavy. The U channel is big, but does not fit around the frame and rear wheel of his new bike, so only the frame is secured directly to the bike rack. All bikes have different geometries, so this may not be the case for everyone. The cable provides some protection for the rear wheel. Overall a nice lock that includes 12 months theft insurance up to $4000.

Lock itself works good so far. I feel my bike is more protected with this sturdy lock. My only concern is the lock mount which is so tight that the lock doesn’t slip into it completely. If I pushed it in hard enough, it would, but then it would be so hard to take out. Definitely some kind of design error. The mount also moves eventually through constant movement of the bicycle despite being tightened hard.

Das Schloss ist leicht zu bedienen und das mitgelieferte Kabel ist lang genug, um mein Ebike inklusive beider Reifen abzuschließen. Das Gewicht ist allerdings nicht unerheblich, man merkt schon, wenn man das Schloss im Rucksack hat. Ich habe jedenfalls kein schlechtes Gefühl, wenn ich mein Fahrrad auch mal etwas länger draußen stehen lassen muss, da man bei dem Schloss wirklich viel Geduld mitbringen müsste, um es zu knacken.
