The Gas-a-Just is available as an OE monotube replacement and as an OE twin-tube performance upgrade. The KYB Gas-a-Just has two separate working chambers: An air-free hydraulic piston and valve area for responsiveness & control, and a second high-pressure nitrogen gas area with a floating piston that provides a comfortable ride during normal driving and adds instant performance on demand.

I only use KYB Shocks… these are an upgrade from the Excel G, and worth every penny… Excel has a softer ride, but if you are installing on an SUV, you might not want that.

2001 Isuzu Rodeo Sport. 4 years on this set.Great shocks if your local roads are perfect (don’t lie to your self about this one)In Florida these were great, up north, you feel every bump, cut and imperfection in the road. Bridge expansion joints were like a pogo stick. Very stiff and made the ride jarring/uncomfortable.Went back to a set of Monroe OESpectrum. Extremely happy with that decision.

Paid the extra money for this upgrade on OEM-quality shocks for a 2003 Rodeo. OE shocks were done after less than 30k miles -- a bit disappointing, though our town does have some rough RR crossings and other conditions which if traversed at speed can cause premature wear, I suppose.Had intended to install these myself, but I'm notably less capable and determined than formerly, so was glad to find a local shop that didn't ask an arm and a leg for their services. Of course, the jury's still out on whether these will last better than the originals, but the ride quality is definitely there and I'm pretty sure the new set of tires will wear better now. If I had to find anything to criticize, it would probably be the substitution of small picture-only instructions (for several different products, apparently) instead of actual written instructions.I was glad (after purchase) to see a syndicated N. California auto repair columnist prefer, in response to a question, this brand as a personal top choice for use on Asian makes.

Noticed I'm the 3rd reviewer who ordered these Gas-A-Justs for an Isuzu Rodeo (2001). Just purchased with original shocks. Needless to say I feel like jerk chicken. Hoping new BFG Long Trail Tours and these KYB's will smooth things out. Then I'll love my old school ride :) May be weird but I'm giving 5 stars, prematurely, based on others reviews, and sheer faith.

They are not inexpensive and smoothed out the normally harsh ride of my Isuzu Rodeo.I had no idea I even needed now shocks but wanted to try to tow a light travel trailer. Without the trailer on the rear, the ride was smooth and taking bumps, like speedbumps, was a dream.I did a lot of research before deciding on this product and I'm glad I did.Highly recommended.
