My original plastic housing was leaking. Instead of replacing the seals I opted for an aluminum part. This places the driven gear almost 1/4" out too far. It is a 36 tooth driven gear but shaped differently than the style that is 100% plastic. Perhaps when the metal/plastic gear is used, the plastic housing is required.

Speedometer was off about 5-10 miles per hour. The needle bounced and would not give an accurate reading. I had to changed the internal gear and because it had fewer teeth, I had to purchase the gear housing too. The item was shipped promptly and was the best price I could find. It arrived sooner than the quoted time. The best thing about this purchase is that it fixed both issues..

Worked well with my trans and is of good quality. Only one nick in the aluminum but it didn't effect fitment or seal.

Used this to replaced the plastic OEM unit in my GM 700R4 transmission. Fit perfectly, better than the original. Well made, high quality piece. Stopped my leak. Took less than 5 minutes to swap out the old one for this. Comes with inside shaft seal and outside o-ring installed.
