I use these instead of Simpson threaded rod for my building hold-downs. Much stronger steel while still being reasonably priced. Since I noticed the 2' version was sold out I went with the 3' and will cut the rods in half. Since the cut end will be set in epoxy I don't even have to make a clean cut.I've been so disappointed in the quality of the Simpson threaded rod I felt I needed to find a suitable substitute. These have worked out really well and they make me feel that I am not wasting my time trying to gain the maximum capacity possible in preventing uplift in the houses I am working on. Really good product at a good price.
