I made a bunch of these for xmas presents and every person that got one was overwhelmed remarking how gorgeous they were. It really made a lot of family and coworkers happy, and that made my day. At work they comment stuff about “talent” and “artistic” but honestly i’m really not talented. I will not be opening Etsy’s five millionth resin casted everything shop. This is a hobby I enjoy the process of doing, and I like to give people the things I make because wtf am I going to do with it all? Anyway, these surprised me. I’ve seen amazon listings photoshopped so hard they’ll make a 12X12” photo look like a subway poster on some generic stock photo. So it’s hard to tell what you’re going to get unless you like, read the specs and actually imagine it. These are a perfect size. Bigger than I expected, but not ridiculous. And I’d say while not an advanced/expert resin casting project, maybe a little beyond beginner? Or maybe I was just a beginner when I got them and these are what taught me the things everyone has to learn the hard way for troubleshooting two part pouring epoxy.Pertinent data for anyone considering:- I notice most sellers of silicone molds don’t list volume specs and thats a pain. Mathing out volume based on perimeter and depth specs is difficult as is, and exceedingly so when accounting for details and reliefs. I realize some materials expand or contract while curing but for the sake of rough estimate, these will hold about 2 cups of liquid, almost half a liter, *when nothing else is submerged*.- As advertised, they are plenty thick enough to hold full size small-medium dried flowers, don’t even need to press in many cases (although I did have to press the dahlias) . I’ve been using mostly Limonium, Dianthus, and Gypsophila species accented with Davallia fern and Hedera leaves (dried fully with a dehydrator because I found the first time I ever poured resin that even a hint of moisture from air drying will ruin the cure).- as mentioned, these are on the larger side for resin molds. This makes them impressive pieces that can truly hold space as a functional decorative vase holding dry or fresh flowers in the provided test tube-looking slips. This also means that you’re going to want to plan your vase ahead of time and be patient when necessary because it’s a lot of expensive resin to waste on mistakes. I’ve had to toss two so far due to my own mistakes so here are some things to keep in mind to not find out the hard way: if it’s your first time casting real dried flowers, they will float and stick out the back if you pour it all at once. Better to cast half and place your decorative herbs, or at least leave enough space to cover the rest in a second pour. My mistake was that i did not wait a full 24 hours for the second pour; the surface felt dry and set to the touch so i finished it off and then wound up essentially with a messy sandwich of two set sides and a bunch of resin constantly leaking out the center. Just like with baking, action needs be quick and methodical, but patience is also an ingredient at certain times.- Nearly all the molds I have for resin are not only pretty, but also functional. I’m not huge on trinkets whose only job is to look like trinkets. So naturally the larger pieces I have (these vases and a pretty rose shaped jar mold) are not only a pretty thing that serves a purpose, but also it was not long before I shoved some fairy lights in there so they can also be nightlights. I love it. My rose jar one I brought to the pre-k i work at and the kids like to take turns holding it at naptime just to have such a warming pretty thing to look at. These vases will take a nice set of fairy lights no problem, but just like with flowers, the string will float a bit. So you may want to do three pours for that - one with flowers, second with lights and maybe a light amount of mica pigment to distract from the wire and help radiate the light, and then have about a cm clearance for a top-up to keep it smooth.- These are both nice vases that look similar but in practice have the stark difference of one being rounded sides and the other having angular sides. This will make a difference when you are choosing which one to put where you envision it.- Finally, first auto-question I see on every mold is “is it durable?” I can attest that yes, I have poured eight so far, four with each mold, and of all my molds this is the one i least worry about when unmolding. If for some reason it never sets and you have a half kilo of gummy frustration that could stick you to the ceiling, obviously use lots of isopropyl and be careful removing it, especially from the flat broad side. But the silicone itself is thicker than any other mold i have, strong enough that the sides do not need to be propped up for setting even if you do it all in one pour. That’s all I can think of at the moment. I don’t write a lot of reviews, but I really had to pop in and say these are awesome. I have a lot of fun making them, and everyone I’ve gifted them to have been overjoyed. Very good purchase, I’ve definitely gotten my money’s worth and will have to buy some more tube inserts.

This mold takes a lot of resin so it will only be used for special requests of preserving something. It is large enough to display wedding flowers, seashells from a vacation, even something like baby rattles. I think it will be nice for any special occasion keepsake. There is a generous 8 tubes with it and I don’t believe it will be difficult to find a tube that fits in it if I run out.

I used the round mold to make my vase, and it took a LOT of resin. I also didn't realize I should have been using a deep pour resin, which would have helped with the bubbling (and keeps the temp down). I did this one in layers, waiting an hour or two in between them. It was my first time making a resin project this big or with layers, so I'm definitely still learning! But I had fun and I love how it turned out. The glass vial fits perfectly, and it won't fall out the back if it gets bumped. It will slide out the top if you turn it upside down, of course, but I was worried about how stable it would be, just sitting there, but the vase is shaped so that it holds it in place.

I have used these mold several times. They are cute once you get them done. They are easy to work with, but I do use a mold release spray with them. I have noticed that they are a little thinner than most molds so I’m hoping that they will last. I think with the addition of a mold release spray there won’t be so much wear and tear on them. Even with the spray release they are tricky to un mold just because of the thickness of the mold. They are made of a pliable silicone but like I said, you have to be extra cautious with them because they are on the thinner side. It is also easy to add inclusions into the resin because the mold is on the larger side. The mold does produce a very cute vase. It comes with the tubes you need but when you run out you have to buy them separately. The mold did come ready to use. There were no imperfections bubbles or overhang , they are a very well produced mold. They are medium size resin mold that come in a white color so you can see your additions or coloring. I believe the pricing is good for the quality of the mold that you get.

I've not seen silicon molds like this before. Very cool shape with plenty of open space for all your design desires. Came with several plastic tubes that fit in perfectly, but should be easy to find more because I will be making lots of these! They are deeper than I expected so needed to pour my regular resin in layers (or use a deep pour). Would also be great with plaster!

I haven't poured these molds yet but the structure of them is really good. They are designed to slip the included test tubs and use as cases. They are thick and sturdy and I come in 2 shapes. Included are 8 test tubes meaning you can make 8 of these vases before having to buy more tubes. I can't wait to embed some dried flowers and make some beautiful creations!!
