Great clasps. Screws are soft metal. Be very carefull with them. They break off easily. I substituted better quality Screws.Would be great if they included a cardstock pattern for drilling. Takes a lot of time to figure that out.

It was hard to find the right size toggle locks to secure forearm gauntlets for my cosplay armor. These little guys are perfect for dependability yet discreet enough to hide in plain sight. If black isn't your color, these will take paint wonderfully. I'm always going to keep a set around for my future projects.

Perfect for my application, this clasp is the perfect size and color to install on an old violin case I didn’t trust the two existing clasps and wanted some security that the case wouldn’t fall open. This clasp has a spring that keeps it closed. It was a little difficult to install because of the spring but worth the effort. To install, spread the spring section of the latch with two fingers. Predrill slightly with a 1/16" drill bit. Wax screws before installing and use the appropriate size Phillips screwdriver to make your life easier.

Old style. No color choices(black). So I painted the latches and screws copper. Be careful screws are soft, had to replace a few. Functional...may order again.

These are so small it is nearly impossible to get the proper alignment when marking where the holes need to be drilled. There needs to be a template included to mark the holes for drilling. Also, the screws are really cheap. One broke off in the wood when tightening it.I don't recommend these spring clamps.

The size is too small to use for my application. I'll keep them though for a different project. Nice quality and would hold up I think.

Well made. Need some care to install, fiddly for fat fingers. Exactly what I was looking for.

I used on an antique violin case with excellent results. They are surprisingly good quality and draw the case cover down fully even though the cover itself was misaligned through age. The clasps we're somewhat tricky to install because of the spring mechanism. Even the screws are good quality but the unfortunate choice of Phillips heads means they strip easily. There's plenty of screws in the kit to replace any damaged ones. Highly recommended.

Plastic catches on 30-year-old plastic toolbox had failed and needed something simple to replace them. These did the trick with some modifications. As some people pointed out, the springs are strong for the size making it hard to mount them to the object. However, using a 90-degree pick or bent nail, they can be held open while they are mounted onto the object. The catch part had to be bent to make it work for the toolbox. The positive part, the catch part could easily be bent with fingers and pliers. The negative part is they are easily bent, meaning if super strength is what is being looked for, this may not be for the solution. The screws were put into plastic and did not have the screw breakage issues others have had.A PZ1 screw bit was used as it seemed to fit the screw head best.Worked for this situation and will use them for other projects.

The clasps themselves are OK and will serve their purpose. However, the same can unfortunately no be said for the included screws! The screws are so soft they basically round if you look at them sideways. Even getting them into soft wood with pilot holes turned out to be an ordeal. And when they don’t round while getting them in they will snap off when you try to tighten the down…Not sure what type of playdonium they use for these, but it must be of the super-soft variety,,,,Bottom line, the clasps are fine, so if you have your own fasteners (rivets or screws) these will work. But if I was you I would not even try to use the included screws!

I bought these latches to replace the broken plastic ones on two of my tool sets. I didn't use the screws so I can't attest to there quality or difficulty of use. A template would be nice, but making one isn't that difficult and I didn't bother with it. I suspect screw issues stem from improper bit size and material preparation ie pilot holes. The quality seems ok and the price was great. FYI I had to install hinges on the second tool set box using the same method.

These clasps are not very easy to install. The holes are covered by the spring clasp. Making it very hard to open and secure to your work at the same time.
