I've just used my pair of MTP-350-CM as overheads on a 3 mic setup over a 5 piece drum kit, and the sound is quite amazing! (Kick is a Shure Beta52)I've tried using these as a stop-gap so I could use my LCT 340 and LCT 140 Air pencil condensers on something else, and my Beta57As where also taken-up, so I was kind of stuck. Following my last studio session, I've decided that these two mics will now be my go-to overhead condensers. The default pick-up frequency range is 90Hz to 20kHz, so I don't have to be overly violent on the high pass to kill kick bleed, and though they have a relatively high self-noise floor, because I'm using them on percussions, I don't need to crank the preamps very high, so I don't have any noise issues on the lines.Toms are lively, cymbals and high-hats are crisp and clear. Unless doing a live gig, I will be trying out this setup for a while to record my low budget garage band types for the foreseeable future, as less track to futz around will mean less time wasted on final mixing. If they want more mics, they'll have to pay more... :D

This mic sounds great and is not a gain hog. Great for articulate, soft speaking vocals.
