Used for short-term backup and transfer. Lexar is solid from a reliability perspective, but this unit transfers much more slowly than a comparable SD Card.

First time I plugged it in it says it's 32GB. What I bought was supposed to be 512GB and it even says on the outside that it's 512GB. I thought maybe it was formatted wrong so I reformatted it and it still says that it's 32GB. Went through tech support on Amazon and they referred me to Lexar. I called them and spoke to a tech support rep which was basically useless. This was about 2 weeks ago and haven't heard anything back from them after he said he was gonna email me with instructions.So I guess I'll just never buy anything else with the name LEXAR on it. They've lost a customer.

Works. Moves data from one device to another. Tested capacity and it passed. Didn't benchmark however transfer was about average. For the price this is a winner.

I used this to copy the contents of an older Maxtor BlackArmor backup drive. This held all of the drive's contents plus some files from other systems. There were no problems and there was no special software required to accomplish these tasks. It was a good purchase.

I bought this as the third member of a backup set; the first two were bought locally because they were on sale. So I actually have a couple of months experience with them.I am using them to back up my System Backup, so I had to format that NTFS to get around the FAT 4GB file size limit. This means that my remarks on speed are for NTFS-formatted drives only.The write speed ... If you look at the details, the write speed varies from 0 to 64 MB/s or so. Actual testing shows that the overall speed is pretty much the same as my Ethernet, which chugs along at a steady 10-12 MB/s. So the average is about 10-12 MB/s. This is using a USB 3.0 port.The read speed, measured using a USB 2.0 port since that is all the Notebook involved has, is also around 60 MB/s, but is quite steady. However, on two occasions, after the first quarter or third of the file was transferred, the speed dropped precipitously. I have no idea why.Reliability does not appear to be an issue, at least so far.I'm not sure what "warmth" means. It does heat up a bit when writing, but not (IMHO) excessively. It provides no emotional support that I can detect.Th
