When do you need to replace your oil pump?
On an internal combustion engine, oil pump is a mechanical device that is used to circulate motor oil to the bearings, camshaft and pistons, make sure the engine oil reaches all moving parts that require lubrication, thus to maintain the temperature of the engine.
When your oil pump fails, you will see some typical symptoms, such as decreased oil pressure, higher engine operational temperature, unusually noisy lifters, calve-train noise.
A failed oil pump can cause disaster to your engine. When you notice any of the symptoms above, it's time to replace your oil pump.

Really bad pump i just installed it today and am barely getting any pressure under 20 psi when driving 0 when idle

Have a 2009 Tahoe 5.3 that had no oil pressure after it got to operating temp, eventually had no oil pressure at all, replaced oil pump and now I have 40 psi cold and about 27 psi warm, I say it's well worth the money

So far so good. Got excellent oil pressure now. 65 psi on cold idle. And about 38 to 40 psi on warm idle. Took away my lifter tick at idle and it seems to get a little better fuel economy.

So far its working fine. BUT I have only driving 100 miles on it. 1000 miles pr more now with no problems.
