I used this product to pull barbed wire as my husband and I build fence and this makes pulling wire tight much easier

Holds better than any other wire gripper I've used thus far. It hasn't slipped yet. The spring enables the user to attach the gripper to the wire, then let go while attaching the come-along. I highly recommend this item.

This is a lot bigger and heavier then I expected. Its good solid metal that will last a long time. With that said it's also a tool that requires a tool. To use this you need some type of puller. I just use a car tie-down with ratchet.I find it hard to get the wire in the puller. It would be nice if there was a way to keep the puller open until the wire is in.So, you need a tool to use this tool. This means you end up having to juggle two things. This makes some jobs time consuming to set up. I haven't tried it but I think just wrapping the wire around the metal tie-down hook and ratcheting the wire would work better. This would kink the wire but not bend and weaken it.

It 's about impossible to stretch barbed wire with this. The jaw hardly opens up enough for bigger smooth wire and has a tendency to slip off. My dad has a set of these that were built years ago and the jaw opens up wide enough you don't have to fight putting it on barbed wire and it gripped great. These are about worthless for stretching wire and is not made in the U.S.A.

Works really well for me. Barbed wire application is why I use them. I have two and if I break a wire I can hook one on either side and stretch them to crimp, kind of a must have if you have a wire fence. Easier and quicker to use than a stretcher. I just ran half mile of fence in multiple sections and used these for the entire job because of ease of use. When you hook it up, just watch how you clamp the wire so it can't spring out when com along is being attached.

Had a project at our gun club to re-stretch and repair the perimeter wire at our range. Already had a come-along (geared puller) so purchased this item to help in bringing the barbed wire fencing up to standard. This item never failed. It always held the barbed wire securely. It is robustly designed, and well manufactured. Not very costly, but well worth the money, as having a taut barbed wire strand come loose and smack one in the face guarantees the day won't go well. The design's cammed gripper held tightly.Highly recommend.

Indispensable. Super fixture. Well built and finished, especially the forging with protective coating. Just about finished with pulling 700 feet of 2" X 4" X 48 inch height Horse fence. Could not have done it with out this device. The latch mechanism is very rugged and easy to attach and detach. My come-along worked well with the looped opening accepting the hook without issue. Probably will never need another one as this one will stay in the staple bucket as it gets handed down.

This is really a great tool for tensioning (stretching) barbless fencing wire when used in conjuntion with a good sturdy come-a-long when fencing in horse or livestock pastures. It would work equally well for barbed wire, but that requires tougher gloves, clothes, and eye and face protection.Once you insert the wire in between the jaws and hold it in place until you get a little bit of tension with a come-a-long it will never come loose while you apply a lot more tension as needed until the wire almost sings. Then it's a simple matter of stapling the wire to your corner or in-line heavy duty wooden fence post (RR tie) and releasing the come-a-long release lever.I used it for fencing a little over 7 acres with a perimeter of about 3200 ft. I used 10 plus rolls of 1/4 mile rolls of barbless fencing to get'er done.Thats about 2 1/2 miles of wire and the Maasdam Pow'r Pull 8050 got a grip and kept a grip.
