Points:+Sufficient length+Magnet is power enough to grip stir bars+Tip is closed off so no risk of rusting-Opposite end is not closed off and metal is exposed+Functions as expected without issueSummary:I frequently make liquid cultures for amateur mycology experiments with oyster mushrooms at home. Oysters are my favorite mushroom, so once I have traits in a batch I like I will isolate and clone genetics from it for future generations. One big pain of liquid cultures is forgetting to remove the stir bar when cleaning and pouring out the contents. Using the AYINLAB magnetic stir bar retriever helps make finding and removing the stir bar easier. The magnet is strong enough to grip stir bars in solution and its tip is sealed off to prevent rust. I found it a little concerning that the opposite end of the rod was not sealed off and the metal inside is exposed. If moisture were to get inside I’d imagine this metal core would rust. Wouldn’t have been too difficult to simply cap this end of the rod. Otherwise it performs well and as expected without any issue.

This is great for pulling out a stirring bar from anything that you either can't or just don't feel like touching. The magnet on this is pretty strong, and the bar is fully covered with a non-reactive coating making it safe for mixtures.

When something works as well as can be expected it deserves a five star rating and this magnetic stir bar retriever works great and deserves it. It's a simple device (just a metal rod costed in PTEF with a magnetized end. Not much else to say other than it works perfectly to retrieve the small rotating magnet at the bottom of the container on your magnetic stirrer.

Not a lot to say about this. It's a magnet on a stick, and the whole thing is coated with PTFE plastic to make it inert enough to retrieve stir bar magnets from hot or dangerous solutions in the lab. It seems to be well made, the magnet is strong enough to attract bar magnets to the side of labware and to pull them out of the solution. I won't go into proper lab safety procedures here, but always work safe and know what you are doing! If you use this and try dragging up a very large stir bar and it falls back into the labware and it splashes, you could end up having a bad day! Be careful!

This AYINLAB Magnetic Stir Bar Retriever does exactly what it's supposed to do - retrieve magnetic stir bars from the mixing container. It simply and efficiently solves the problem of how to get the stir bar out cleanly. It looks like it's made of the same material as the bar so it resistant to high temperatures, corrosion, and abrasion. It's long enough for my applications and I rate it a good value.

This is a very strong magnet. This is the first stir bar retriever I’ve ever bought, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. My teenage son has taken a deep interest in chemistry & requested a heater/magnetic stirrer for Christmas. I thought this would be a good accessory too.I was nervous about the plastic end cap only being about an inch long, thinking that whatever chemicals were in the beaker would get on the top between the plastic cap & the rest of the rod. This turned out to not be a problem because of the strength of the magnet. It doesn’t have to touch the stirring rod to pull it off the bottom of the beaker. It is easy to wipe off & seems durable.

Vendor took 11 days to ship from order date. This arrived from the vendor in a plain cardboard box. The magnetic “wand” was safely enclosed in a round plastic sleeve. This works much easier than the little handheld magnets, & I see now that these are heavy duty & built to last. Before I was hesitant to spend for a wand type magnetic retriever, but seeing the build quality of this, I’d invest in this type versus a little handheld retriever if the option came up again — this is worth the extra cost & is a value.
