This is a tried-and-true design adapted from the guitar world, now for the classical world. It's great for a practice instrument that you need to grab frequently, but I'm not sure the idea of hanging a very valuable piece on this style mount is a great idea. The back of the instrument should be supported (padded, rather) if attached directly to the wall, or the hanger should be offset some distance from the wall, somehow. Obviously, you should attach this to the wall, right into a stud, for the most security. It'll hold just fine.

I ordered this violin bracket to display an instrument no longer in use. The item comes in the shape of a violin with a rubber washer and a rubber coated bracket used to hold the instrument. There are instructions included in the box. Please follow them. I didn't initially use the drywall anchors because the violin doesn't weigh much. I hung the mahogany bracket on the wall with a popular hook product. The violin was securely on the wall until sometime during the night the strip came apart snd the instrument fell straight down to the floor. Fortunately the only thing that broke was the bow. After gluing it back yogether, I installed the bracket as the paperwork instructed andhas remained in place since. I would have preferred the actual look of the bracket to be a little better, it is kind of an odd color, leaning toward being reddish-brown. The edges of the wood could have been sanded to a rounder, more soft appearance. The arm that actually holds the violin and bow is kind of off balance. I tried several ways to cause the bow to hang straight but there just wasn't a way to get it tohang straight. All in all I'm pleased with this item. Please remember to always follow manufacturers recommendations for hanging and wall art.

So first off this is an Amazon Vine review, meaning I received this product essentially for free in exchange for writing an honest review.Bought this to hang in our living room which were turning into a music room as a music family. We have two violins and bought this to display one of them and provide quick access to play whenever wanted either by ourselves or friends and family who come visit (also very musical). I love the design, construction, and the inclusion of the bow holder. However I’m rating three stars due to how it holds the instrument.Instead of gripping the neck like most instrument holders (like guitar hooks and such), it holds the violin by having the violin rest on the pegs. If not careful this can weaken the pegs overtime and also mess with the tuning (which those who perform we know how much of a pain peg tuning can be). If simply displaying, it’s great, but for active performing use, perhaps stick to using your case or more traditional stands.

I really am happy with this purchase. Being able to hang up my Instrument has made my room look nicer, and has encouraged me to play more often. This violin holder is sturdy and the violin and bow sit nicely without fear of falling. It could be shaken a bit and keep the violin from falling off. This was a great purchase and I want more for my other Instruments.

A great little gadget to encourage violin practice! I love to have my violin and bow visible and accessible. It practically calls out to be played! This is the first time I've seen the hanger in a violin shape and it's such a cute option I couldn't resist getting another. I recommend it to all my violin students.

This is a nice addition to my practice room. I really don't have a convenient wall space to mount the hanger, so I mounted on the side of the desk next to where I practice. This is really well-built and sturdy. The finish on the wood is very nice. The metal fingers that hold the violin are well-padded. After I took the pictures, I realized I had put the bow on the hook incorrectly. Instead of hanging the bow with the hair out, the hair should point in. If the bow is stored as in my pictures, the bow can bump up against the top plate of the violin. With the bow hair pointed in, the bow rests above the bridge and much less likely to bump up against top plate of the violin .This hanger solves the problem of finding a place to put the bow. I sometimes would just put the bow on the music stand, but that gets in the way of changing folders and music. I originally was using a guitar hanger for the violin. It worked, but not ideal.Included in the package are two plastic drywall anchors with screws for mounting the hanger on the wall.

I've played violin for almost two decades so my review may be a little more strict than othersI think this item is great for displaying a decorative violin OR if it's installed in a studio to briefly hold a violin/similar sized instrument during a brief breakI have general concerns about leaving an instrument unattended on this stand given that the hook could come loose. the instrument will also be exposed to other temperature changes since its out of its case, which is why im saying that it's probably better for brief holds.it's a handy piece though and would be useful to most frequently players.
