The plastic was chipped, it can hold a bow, but I am not sure I can trust the weight of my violin to it. Kinda disappointed, but I am too tired to return it back, will take the price as a loss and use it as a bow holder

Works well and does not interfere with the music stand. It is made of plastic and appears to be durable. Initially it was difficult to put on my music stand and I was afraid of breaking it....but so far so good.

It does the job but is is just made of plastic. It is supposed to clip on to the stand, but it doesn't hold well and falls off easily. I will be looking to replace it with something more sturdy.

I did not, nor would I, ever buy this product. From the looks of the picture, this is exactly what I tell my students NOT to do. They think hat the scroll is a built in hanger and they had it on the edge of the stand, anyway. You wouldn't do this for the exact reason someone else in a review said; it's too easily knocked off by a dog, cat, student or sibling. Protect your investment.

The good:- The item attaches to the stand nice and firmly- It has a low profile, so it doesn't get in the way of turning pagesThe bad:- It seems to work best if the stand is completely vertical, however, I usually prefer to have the stand about 45 degrees, which makes the bow holder not very useful- The plastic is not the strongest, and is not very soft (it would be better if it had a rubber coating or something).I wanted this just to hold a bow, and I adopted it to make it work. I cut off some of the plastic, and then applied rubber over the plastic to make it soft and so it wouldn't be noisy when placing the bow on the plastic. After these adjustments, I'm quite happy with the result.

This item might be ok for violins, but the viola (on a Manhasset stand) made the stand seem unstable, especially if the holder is not centered. Even centered though, I did not feel that the viola was safe.

It's just a piece of plastic which clips onto the edge of my music stand, but it works great. So handy to have the viola and bow sitting right in front of me rather that hiding in the case. I find I pick up the instrument more, and it's much more handy. Good stuff.

This violin holder is okay, but one should not depend that their violin will not fall off this holder. The plastic clamp-like device that secures the holder to the music stand is not very secure and can be dislodged from the music stand. It would have been better if Manhasset improves on this design (shortcoming). The holding system for the violin and bow also works around gravity and tapping the violin may dislodge the violin off the violin holder. For adults, I think this holder may benefit, but for children (with a dog in the house) this holder is questionable for home use/practice.

This is made of flimsy plastic. It does not slide onto the music stand firmly; the littl flap supposed to secure it to the lip of the music stand was wayyy tooo tight and can not push it without scratching the stand or break it... nah...waste of $$.I went to the music store and found the metal String Swing brand that handtight and easy to remove, very sturdy, and I love it. Great for use to place the violin/viola and bow on when needed to take a break from practice, but just want to mention that it make turning pages very difficult because the small bulky metal box for screw on is in the way.
