This starter was not useable for its advertised purpose. Design error in the mounting plate caused it to barely reach(horizontally) the engine flywheel and the vertical extention of the bendix drive when engaged was inadequate to fully engage the teeth on the flywheel. Use of this product would have rapidly destroyed my flywheel.

I was having issues with my old starter not spinning the flywheel hard enough or getting stuck and not coming back down. This worked immediately! Got the flywheel spinning and the bendix gear went up and down with no issues. The old girl is running perfectly again. Thank you!

After looking around and tired of my starter kicking out on cold starts I seen this unit & recommended by Amazon so I purchased it. I went back to Johnson and quickly figured out I couldn’t afford their parts. This starter has performed very well for the price of an OEM bendix.

I hap purchased a different starter 2 months before this one that died after 25-30 starts.Installed this starter in 15 min, turned the key, could tell the difference in quality right away. This starter had no issue turning over the motor. Fired right up. Very happy so far. Will post another review in 6 months after some use.
