This is actually my second set of these. The first lasted 2-3 years. They eventually got a bit of rust, so I retired them and got another set. They do the job and don't break like the plastic ones. And each one having two hooks makes it easy to hang the curtains back up after washing them.

I bought these hooks with my new shower curtain and shower head. (P.S. I LOVE my new shower head.)Amazing design and it is very easy to hook the shower curtain on. I love that I can glide the curtain very easily, the ball end is keeping the curtain on the rod. I also like the double hook that allows me to hang both the water-proof curtain and my favorite liner separately.I’ve had relatives and friends who stay in our house can’t stop admiring the elegant look of my shower. They said it looks more cozy than any hotel they had gone to. They got so inspired by the way my shower looks and they thought of improving their own shower.Once a month, I wipe the hooks and shower rod with little oil to keep them from rusting. It’s been 4 months since I bought these hooks and they still look good as new. Changing shower curtain and liner is made much easier by this hook! You have an excellent product. I could give it a 10 if there was a rating of 10. I definitely recommend this to anyone who loves to organize things in their bathroom.

I've always used a liner with my shower curtain but hated taking it off to wash it! I've tried different kinks of hooks over the years and find them all a hassle to open and close especially when they're above your head!So when i saw these i just had to try them and im not disappointed. These are not too bad at all, super easy to install and hang the curtain and the liner. The only downside is the liner tends to lift off the first or last hook when opening or closing the curtain.I've easily adjusted the way I open and close the curtain now keeping pressure down, but with young children keeping a closed hook on either end would solve this problem and it would be my only reason for taking one star off. Should be able to give parts of a star! Like 1/4 ...These will make taking off my liner to wash it so much easier and why I bought it in the first place so I'm giving the star back. Actually I whish I could give extra stars as those metal glide hooks that lock that I had before killed my hands trying to open and close them... hate is not strong enough a word for the other type! LolThese are great, well made, balanced so they don't flip upside down when the curtain is off either (another thing I hated about my last ones)All in all, love Em!

***UPDATE 1/19/19***I've owned these for almost exactly 2 years. I just reinspected them and they still look like new upon quick glance. There is minor surface corrosion between the ball bearings. VERY unnoticeable. When pulling the shower curtain, ALL of the shower rings glide on my metal shower rod. Yes, every single one of them. What some of them do NOT do, is have the ball bearings roll/spin while they glide on the rod. This doesn't bother me all because it's still fully functional. It's metal on metal, hence why they glide without rolling. If the rings were on a rod that had caused more friction in order for the bearings to roll, they would. Point is, it's been 2 years and i paid $4 for these! I read someone else's review on here, and the guy gave these 1 Star because he had a hard time opening the plastic package. That doesn't warrant a poor review because of the packaging! Perhaps letting the manufacturer know about the issue and suggest an alternate package, would serve more useful. I'm sticking with 5 stars because of the price and operation after 2 full years. There's not a whole lot you can say about shower rings, unless you're Dell Griffith. I would do my usual "Pros vs Cons" here, but there's really only 1 Con to mention, and it's not anything that bad. Over time, they do get some rust inside and in between the ball bearings, preventing them from rolling properly. I just bought these for $7 in an Amazon Lightning Deal because I needed to replace the same exact ones for the exact reason that i just gave. I had them for 6 years and i'd say they needed replacing after about 4-5 of those years. They work really well. I do recommend them. The packaging was a little challenging to get them out, while trying to avoid being cut by the plastic, but hey, that's just the packaging. My particular challenge was the interaction with them and my shower rod. Both of them gather moisture over time and can still gather rust. That prevents them from working properly. Take care of them and they'll last longer.I can offer up some quick tips for maintenance so that they last longer. If you don't mind replacing them every 4-5 years then you don't have to read on.Tips:-Keep the shower Rod Clean.-Use olive oil on a paper towel and wipe the shower rod. This will (temporarily) keep the glide smooth. You'll need to do this more than once.-Use a light to medium weight plastic liner and outside liner. The heavier you go, the more weight the rings have to pull.* Try to find a shower rod that is either one whole piece, or has an extension with a low lip. What i mean by this is most rods are adjustable, with one rod going into another. One rod is bigger than the other so that it'll fit inside, making it extendable. Here lies the problem: At the point where it extends, there's a lip. My shower rod happens to have a lip that the rings can get hung up on if they get seized up by rust. Trust me when i say that you'll go through shower liners because of ripping them through frustration when trying to pull the curtain shut or open*Thanks for reading! I am writing this review after having these installed in our master bathroom for two years:These rings are holding up really well. They slide without much effort and do not rust or mildew. They allow for easy changes of liners and curtains and they are made of high quality metal. After 18 or so months I have noticed very little rust (maybe a few spots of pitting if you look close) but overall these are a great set of reasonably priced shower rings. One minor downside, which is totally not the fault of these rings but something to consider, is that the opening and closing of the curtain with these on is somewhat noisy due to the rolling metal on metal - we try to open the curtain slow and deliberate if it is early in the morning or late at night so as not to wake our kids. Prior to installing these rings, we would replace the cheap plastic ones every year or so due to mildew and/or cracking but these rings are holding up much better.UPDATE 10/2017: Five years later these still function well. I removed all off the rod once to clean them (with an aliquot of Barkeepers Friend) because they were getting some visible pitting about a year ago, but after a quick and easy soak and wipe-down they were good to go and they again look shiny.
