I got the 30lb to 40lb vest, and it does indeed make working out much tougher--but in a good way; the whole point is to build strength. I've only used it a few times, so I can't say how well it will last, but the quality seems good.

This is definitely heavy. It also seems to be durable and well-made. I like that you can use the vest alone, and it's plenty heavy, or you can use the included weights. It's easy to get on and off, and it's also easy to adjust. It's comfortable to wear, and it feels secure after you get it on while you're exercising. This one probably isn't great for using while you're running because it's so heavy, but it would be great for workouts with less impact. So far, we're happy with it.

Great for working out or getting in shape. This vest is HEAVY when fully weighted. It's a very well made vest with double stitching so it won't rip or tear. I removed half the weight and went skating for a workout and I was absolutely COOKED after half an hour. This vest is the best and works exceptionally well. Fitting is right on, not too tight, not too loose.

Solid construction and stitching. I use it for extra weighted work like dips, squats, push-ups, etc. I like the 2lb increments as they are more practical. It uses standard straps and plastic buckles to tighten. It appears like it should accommodate those with larger chests and waists.

Time will tell, but this vest appears to be made well. The material is robust and the stitching appears to be strong. The shoulders are padded which is a plus given the max weight of the unit (40 lbs). There are two wide straps to secure the unit, although I wish there was a bit more control over it. It always feels a bit sloppy to me. Each of the 1.9 lb weights is packaged within a reasonably heavy duty sleeve and slides into its own velcro closure pocket. There are 20 weights/pockets, so theoretically you can get anything from about 2 lbs (the empty vest) up to 40 lbs. In general, I find weighted vests useful for enhancing "body weight" exercises such as chin-ups, push-ups, dips, and the like. They are also good for training for hiking with a back pack (e.g., walking around the neighborhood without having to wear the pack itself). As a distance runner, I would not recommend running with a weighted vest as it would drastically increase the impact forces on your feet, ankles, knees, hips, and lower back.
