I noticed my older saws were not cutting as well as before. A standard file is too large to sharpen them. This saw works well. You will also need a saw tooth setter to reset the kerf. I took about 10 minutes to sharpen the teeth and reset them. My saws now work well for pruning my trees and bushes.
