First off I think it’s important to set expectations. I think in order to fully appreciate this kind of riddle. You have to understand that you are entering into a project very similar to those terrible saw movies that start with “do you want to play a game“ and then you spend many hours just being tormented for no reason. I really don’t wanna give too much away, but they do throw some really good ones at you, like in the first act, when they say “cut all tabs, except for tabs, B“ in the directions. It was really wild and fun once I realized that following those directions without looking for the properly aligned tabs, and then getting rid of them, makes it completely impossible to actually install the unit as intended, or as at least you would think it was intended. These guys are better than that, though. In that first step, you get to go all the way back to zero and restart at the beginning, except for this time you need to bring a hot glue gun. Never saw that one coming! But even after that, I would still recommend following the directions, because if you don’t follow the directions and cut off those tabs, that may actually be the end of the riddle. I thought about this a lot as I was putting it together. And that’s a movie that even the idiots that like to watch those terrible saw movies wouldn’t enjoy watching. My ex-girlfriend included.Another thing I battled with mentally during this riddle…… as someone who doesn’t drink, it was really hard for me to decide if it would be better to start this project, sober, and start immediately drinking after. Or if the real play to try and come out alive, is being better off to safeguard your sanity by getting completely drunk before you start, that way, you’re less aware of the carnage going on. I also wondered if part of the riddle was if you get as drunk as the guy was who designed this, then maybe your thought processes perfectly align and it becomes easier, or if you just say screw it I’ll do it another day and then never come back to it. I’m pretty sure that’s what the guy who designed this did. So maybe you both save some sanity. If you are also a sober person. I would like to warn you ahead of time that this will be a true test of your sobriety. You may be like me and been sober for many years, but this will test you like never before. It may Actually have been designed like a final level of some type of video game designed by Buddha to test your soul. I don’t know what happened to my soul during this installation process, but I’m pretty sure it’s broken beyond repair. And in which case I don’t know if you should really buy this thing or not. But it will change your life one way or another, for a better or for worse. But they should include whiskey with it. But anyways, that’s my review, I gotta go get some whiskey. I hope you enjoy it.

This was an absolute pain in the butt to install. I had to essentially trim the car itself and everything barely fit. It also looks horrible. I ended up returning this piece as I opted to spend extra on a ‘96-97 Miata Tombstone which gave a perfect fit single din fitment. See before and after photos. Don’t recommend this kit. Get a newer tombstone if you want a single/double din option.

This product did exactly what it is supposed to. It holds the new radio, has a cubby, and looks nice and tidy. I'm pleased considering it's inexpensive. That being said, this requires A LOT of trimming and sanding to fit correctly. Most of this is very clear in the instructions, but like me you may have to edit things as required. I used a small Dremel to trim and sand which made things much easier.Basically, if you think this can just go into the car do not get this. Be ready for some DIY. The result will look nice if you take your time.

Not yet recieved, but looks and sounds perfect for what I need...I am planning on purchasing an adapter lead, and using this to power a Milwaukee heated hoodie, to replace the M12 (2.0Ah) Milwaukee battery.

Lots of options, you will need to figure on your own. Be prepared to modify, all cars/trucks are different, so buy what ever is close to your make and model and go from there. You will be lucky if it fits perfect the first try, just know that these kits vary in sizes.

this kit worked great in my 1990 miata, fit great, looks great, holds deck tight, makes for nice install. This is the kit to use in a first gen Miata (NA).A slight trim on the bottom rear of 2 corners needed, but no big deal its hidden .

This was exactly what I needed to install a new head unit in my NA Miata. The kit has everything (and more) that you need for the install, but it definitely needs a lot of tweaking to make it fit. As one other reviewer mentioned, if you are comfortable using a Dremel tool you can achieve a nice clean looking install. If you are not comfortable with a Dremel tool, then good luck! (You will need it)The instructions outline all the tabs that need to be removed depending on what vehicle you are trying to fit this into. I also had to countersink the screws deeper to make all the screws sit completely flat. The tolerances are very tight fitting this into the car, so I had to remove a lot of material around the edges to make clearance. Now that it's installed it has a very clean appearance and is rock solid.

According to the manufactures website, this is supposed to fit a 1997 miata. However, it didn't seamlessly fit mine. The design of this is to fit several other Mazda models, which I felt was a bad thing. Typically, when you make a "universal part" that means it won't fit exactly. I took a chance with this and wished I hadn't. Read on.The unit requires tabs to be removed depending on which model vehicle you're installing it in. While removing these tabs, the flimsy frame of the unit broke. Since I needed to install the unit, I super glued the breaking point back together. That didn't hold it for the install, as the area was just subject to to much stress throughout the install. Since I was going from the factory double din to a single din, I put the included "pocket" in for the bottom, which didn't work out for me (the pocket rocks). The unit didn't fit in the opening of the miata. I had to do some trimming of various parts of the unit to get it to fit into my dash. Overall, this was not a pain free installation. If I had to do all over again, I'd pick another brand. I had previously used this brand to install a stereo in my jeep, which was painless and easy. This model, however, was nothing but problematic.Long story short: buy at your own risk.
