This is a great little mixer for paints, tattoo ink, nail polish etc.It vibrates so the vibration is enough to mix well but it also comes with small ball bearings that you place in your liquid to stir, this is the fastest method. Its quiet and no setup required, just plug it in and its ready to go.Very handy device

I have a 7000 RPM vortex mixer but overall the time this 2100 RPM model takes to mix a hobby paint (with a bead inside) is only different by less than a minute. The price difference is much more than that though. In fact I find this model a lot more reasonable for a small scale hobby. The other problem with higher speed mixers, at least my model, is it's tendency to shake parts loose or come free from its mounts on the table. This model holds its place on just cushioned pads quite easily. Nothing seems to be coming loose so far. I appreciate the spare top regardless. The main downside is this lower RPM mixer would probably take a lot longer if I were to mix my entire paint collection, which I do every once in a while. For just mixing a handful of paints as you are using them I prefer this version. As others have noted just be sure to keep your power supplies sorted. I have a variety of cables on my hobby table ready to go and the standard USB C I had plugged in did not function with this mixer.

First off let me acknowledge that I've giving this 5 stars even though I have some serious concerns with the way this unit is powered (more on that in a bit). I ordered this to help mix small bottles of airbrush paint. So far I've been very pleased with this ability of this small unit to dramatically help with getting these small bottles mixed well. It does take a non-trivial amount of time to get the paint well mixed, but it is much quicker than shaking the bottles by hand and I find that overall it does a much better job doing the mixing that simply shaking the bottles by hand. So, as far as it's ability to do its job - I'm very happy with this mixer. However, I have a serious concern with the way this thing is powered. The unit has a USB-C socket for power and it comes with a small power brick that provides 12V (1A) power via a USB-C plug. But I do not believe that this is a true USB-C compatible power source, instead I believe it to be a simple 12V source that is wired directly to the power pins of the USB-C connector. A true USB-C compatible source should only provide 5V of power until the device negotiates with it to confirm it is compatible with a higher voltage. This negotiation protocol requires a chip in the device to perform the negotiation. I opened the mixer up and there is no such device present. The power wires from the usb-c connector feeds directly to the motor circuit and the data lines do not appear to be used. Therefor I suspect that this device is simply expecting 12V from the power adapter and is not truly usb-c compatible. This isn't really an issue as long as you only use the power adapter provided with this mixer - but I would not recommend trying to use the power adapter with any other usb-c device (I believe it would likely damage your device). I also tried using a real usb-c power supply and the mixer does not negotiate to run at a voltage higher than 5V, so it doesn't operate correctly. So I guess the bottom line is that this works great as long as you use the power adapter provided - but do not try to use a real usb-c power supply and definitely do not try to use the power adapter provided with any other devices (like to charge your phone).

Not bad for its size and power consumption. The silicone sleeve is secure but easily removable to clean it and this product comes with a spare. It has good ball bearings on the oscillator, plenty of force, and a decent travel distance. The contact switch is easily activated but resistant to accidental triggering, and a 1A 12VDC supply was included for powering the unit (see note). The power cable is short and hardwired at the supply side. The batches I mix are small, usually samples for inspection, so this motor is the perfect size. If you're working with test tubes or small flasks it's more than enough power, yet it won't vibrate your neighbor's office. It does walk around a little from vibration while using it one-handed, such is life with a small device. A little piece of nanotape under it works well. All things considered, for a small, portable, low power vortex mixer it's very convenient and has an extremely small footprint while doing a decent job.NOTE: The included supply uses a USB-C style connector but it is a 12 VDC supply. Some devices that have USB-C ports but don't implement the full protocol won't detect and tolerate this difference, so be careful not to get it mixed up with your normal supplies. The USB-C specification supports high voltage connections up to 20V *in the protocol*, but they are negotiated by the device using a USB chipset in that instance. A compliant supply will keep output at 5V until more is requested, whereas the included supply just gives 12V according to its markings. We should all be exercising common sense anyway, but I can imagine some people grabbing cords to charge a device accidentally plugging this supply into an intolerant device because it's the same port. I tagged mine with a label, just in case.Note to seller: Unless this power supply has a protection feature built in, my recommendation to the manufacturer is to change to a barrel jack or something instead, or at least clearly mark the cable at the device end, everything else looks good.

We have been using this mixing and so far it’s been pretty good. We like that’s it’s simple to use and comes with everything you need to start with. The quality feels good and the mixing itself works really well. I don’t have a reference to how other ones work and at what price but this one works well. The only downside is the noise. Again, I have no reference for sound and if these machines are normally this loud. But it is quite loud. That’s not an issue as such, just something to be mindful of depending on your environment.Overall we like it and it works well.
