I got this because it said "minimal text obstruction," as the one I had did seem to obscure the words on my Kindle. I attached it to my Kindle, which is the entirety of setting it up as it's already paired, and moved it as far to the margin as I could. Success!I love this little device. It makes reading so much faster since I don't need to move my arm or hand to swipe the screen. OK, that sounds lazy, but when I'm reading in bed in cooler months, my hands get very cold and I like to keep them under the covers. With this device, I can prop up my Kindle, then I can snuggle under the covers and read. The remote has a single button to advance the page (my other one inexplicably has two buttons, both only advance the page) and it doesn't make noise (my other one has a slight click that is just audible enough to anyone sharing the bedroom when it's really quiet). It also has a strap so you can keep track of your remote (helpful to strap it to your wrist so it's able to be found under the covers!).It's a pretty simple contraption: the remote activates the two contacts on the clip that clips onto the device (phone, tablet, reader, or computer; whatever touch screen you're using). The contacts are tiny and on the very end of the clip, so you can have a fairly large bezel around the device and can position it accordingly. This can go all the way to the edge of the screen and work well. When the button on the remote is pressed, it's like tapping where the contacts are. It's totally a first-world contraption, but I love how much faster I can turn the pages without moving, particularly so I can keep my hands warm.As I was taking the picture for the review, I was going to show how much narrower this one was than my other one. Alas, the turning devices are nearly identical (like they could have been made on the same assembly line); I just assumed I couldn't move it back further. The remotes are different, and I like that there's only one button and it's a very quiet button. Even though I didn't need to get another one, I'm glad I did. You can see in the pic how much (or little) screen real estate is needed by the device.

I received this product at no cost through the Amazon Vine program. I only review products I actually use and was not paid for this review or told what to say.I was skeptical about page turners in general. These devices work by cliping to the screen of the Kindle (or other compatible device) and simulating a finger touch. I didn't think it would work well because I was concerned it woudl obscure the text. The device I received worked perfectly. It only needs to touch the screen and fits within the standard Kindle Margin. I have a paperwhite 11th edition and it was fantastic on my device.Once clipped on, I only need to press a button to turn the pages. I don't like using my finger on the screen as it interupts the readng experience for me. I find using the remote device much more satisfying. The unit I received was rechargeable and very functional. It was not made of premium materials, so I am deducting one star for that, but it was a good price and a good value.I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys reading Kindle books.

It's important to charge it first. Did not function right out of the box in spite of looking like it was working when I pressed the buttons. It does come already paired to itself. How well it works is going to depend a bit on if and what type of case you have. With my case, it works fine on the right hand side for advancing books as is done in Western literature, as I suspect most anyone reading this review would do. But I cannot use it for manga and have my kindle in its case.It has automatic shutoff after some period of not using it, but I haven't found a way to force it off, only to turn it on.To keep it from intruding on the text (with the additional thickness created by my case), I had to make the margins as wide as possible. It is still there, but once I'm reading, it fades into the background.I wish there were something like this that was just the button. Something that used the existing Bluetooth radio to control page turns. Until that happens, this is the simplest way to resolve problems with touch screen page turning, whether it's a desire to keep your hands warm in winter, or some other issue that makes tapping to turn even a slight impediment. The biggest downside after the fact it's a visible finger on your screen, is that it can only move in one direction. You need two, and the ability to attach to either side (which again, is more an issue of your style of case than the page turner)--and then you'll also have two remotes to keep track of.I think it's a fair price for what it is--and while I don't see it as a "must have" accessory, it's definitely a "nice to have".
