Minoston 4 Hour Countdown Timer Switch

Minoston MT10N is a countdown switch. It can effectively help your home and office save energy, reduce electricity waste and electricity bills. It is easy to set the timing operation. When the preset time expires, the load connected to the timer will automatically turn off.

The timer counts down as long as 4 hours and as short as 5 minutes. The countdown time is appropriate, which can meet the timing needs of most devices. Perfect for bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms. Suitable for lights, exhaust fans, etc.

This timer switch uses 120VAC for residential lighting applications. We designed an amber backlight specifically for the device, making it easy to locate, determine the current countdown duration and use the device in the dark. In order to meet the needs of different families, we have designed the function of adjusting the brightness of the LED indicator light. The operation is simple, and it only takes about 1 minute to set up.

  • Hold the "ON/OFF" override button until the LED indicator flashes, the timer switch will exit countdown mode and always "ON" (the LED indicator is solid).

  • Hold "5 Min" button for 3 seconds untill the indicator of ON/OFF button flashes quickly.

  • Hold "10 Min" button 3s untill the the indicator of ON/OFF button flashes quickly. (Default Setting: Backlight function of ON/OFF button is always ON)

  • Hold “2 Hour” button for 3s. (All LED indicators flash on minimum brightness.)

  • Hold “4 Hour” button for 3s. (All LED indicators flash on maximum brightness.)

I've purchased and installed three of these over several months, beginning a few months ago. The product design is quite nice. They work as expected. Best of all they are pretty easy to install. I have not needed to contact their support line. You do need to have a neutral line and you can't have a very shallow box because, like all timers they are physically larger than conventional switches.

I installed it a month ago. Waited a month to see if it fails. I have it installed in 2 locations.Only good things to report. Such a flexible design compared to other timer switches.This switch feels solid to touch and buttons seem solid.Only limitation is max you can keep it on is for 4 hours. I use it for exhaust fan in bathroom, so if I have to keep it on for more than 4 hours, I can just switch it off and on again. But I do not see when I will need to do it. This is 1/2 hp switch, which worked while other GE switch did not work for exhaust fan. (I had tested GE switch and it did work for LED bulb, but it could not handle current for exhaust fan even though cover said it should.)There are other reviews with programming details. So I will not go into details. But this is awesome switch, which will do everything you want it to do. LED too bright? No problem, reduce brightness? Do not like light? No problem program to disable LED. Remember last programmed time. Switch off and on with large button. Everything works perfectly.

No complaints, works well, brightness of the indicator lights is adjustable (!), only issue was on installation. The size of the thing just fits exactly in its space in the double electric box. I spent a half hour moving wires around before realizing that what was keeping the thing from seating fully in the box was a small metal tab part of the box itself. After trying to bend the tab back 1/8", just moved the switch to the other side of the box.

Good design compared to other similar products. Other switches has a thicker border to create space for the LED. This one moved the LED to the center of the buttons thus allow the border thickness to match the surrounding light switches, looking a lot seamless.It's almost perfect, but I do see a few points for improvement.One is that the LED will not inform you of how much time is left on the timer. For example, if you choose 60 min countdown, the 60 min LED will stay light up all the way to the end. It would have been better if the LED move with the timer. ie, if there's less than 5 min left on the timer, the 5 min button should light up; if there's 8 min left, the 10 min button should light up, etc.Another thing is the metal plate on the switch is too thick. This cause the existing face plate of the switch to no longer sit flush with the wall, leaving a small tiny gap no matter how much I tighten the screw. It would have been better if the metal plate is a bit thinner.

In general I liked the product very much and much more than similar ones in the market. I am surprised why this one is not as popular and does not have many reviews.I hope the life and reliability is as good.Pros:- The product was nicely packaged with necessary items to finish the job.- The price is reasonable- Nice amber color LED for each button with adjustable intensity- good time range from 5min- 4 hour-over-ride ON button-Easy wire connection-easy fit to current setting-Can be used for LED light and thats why it has to be connected to neutral wire to not send a small current to the load lineCons-needs additional wiring to connect the neutral-finding the right button to set desired time in dark needs memorizing the buttons location
