If you have Dell laptops (and possibly other brands), you're familiar with this sort of power cord. Why they couldn't stick with the more common C13 connector and save everyone a lot of hassle, I don't know. But they went with the C5 "Mickey Mouse" connector and made everyone's life difficult. I, for one, have dozens of C13 power cords running around but the C5 cords are far less common. Furthermore, many of Dell's C5 cords feature a 180° connector which doesn't fit every power supply.But if your laptop came with one of these cords, you might ask, why would you need another one? The answer is simple: I'm cheap and I'm lazy. Laptops are meant to be taken with you. To coffee shops, to clients' offices, on holiday, to your mother-in-law's, to school, etc. Oftentimes, however, your intended use will far outlast the battery, meaning you need to bring your power supply with you. Now, were I as wealthy as I ought to be, I would simply buy another power supply (complete with C5 cord) and keep it in my laptop bag. Alas, I am not rich.I'm also far too lazy to crawl under my desk or dig under the dresser or search whereever my (or my wife's, sons' or daughter's) power supply is plugged in, not to mention having to try and plug it in again when returning home. But while the actual power outlet is likely out of easy reach, the power supply itself is usually easily accessible. So the compromise between buying a second power supply and unplugging the cord from the wall is to unplug the C5 cord from the power supply and just bring that with a spare C5 power cord.That's where these cords come in. They're reasonably priced and can simply live in a laptop bag waiting for the power supply to join them. I don't have to crawl under/over/behind furniture and I don't have to spend more than a few dollars.In regards to these specific cords, Monoprice is a well-known, reputable company and they seem to function perfectly well. They're not super long but they don't really need to be; the cord that goes from the power supply to the laptop can bear the brunt of the reach. Although not significantly, the shorter length makes them lighter than a perhaps unnecessarily long version would be. They also have a straight connector so they'll fit in your power supply whether it's a thicker or thinner model.All-in-all, I highly recommend these.

No es que un cable de alimentación de energía sea tan especial, pero este cable, luego de 3 meses de intensivo, pero adecuado uso, no tiene fallas, ni el el conector hacia el enchufe, ni hacia el convertidor, así que estoy satisfecho con el cable

A un excelente precio, a menos de la mitad que en tiendas físicas de electrónicos, lo utilizo para aumentar la distancia a donde puedo conectar mi laptop. Tiene buen grosor y la clavija funciona perfecto donde lo he conectado.
