HOW TO PROPERLY INSTALL A STRUT ASSEMBLY

Avoid noise after installing a strut assembly with this four-step procedure.

  1. Loosely install 1 or 2 upper mounting nuts and position lower strut mount to steering knuckle assembly.
  2. Install lower mounting bolts and lower vehicle to the ground.
  3. Locate manufacturer torque specifications.
  4. Torque lower bolts and secure upper mounting nuts in alternating pattern.

These are factory fit and needed nothing but some muscle to remove and install. Took about 1 hour to take down and install. The ride was a treat as my RAM went from a death wobble to smooth ride as new.....

Apart from one of the upper bolts shearing off one of the front coil overs before it reached the correct torque, the suspension is definitely sub-par compared to to original. Quite how they managed to make the ride more bumpy but the overall suspension stiffness more wallowing I don’t know. Brake as you corner and you may think the front corner is going to bottom out, but go over a pot hole and you may lose a filling. Should have coughed up the extra cash for replacement OEMs.

Great product for the price. I decided to go with Monroe when changing the shocks and struts on my 2016 RAM 1500. They were very easy to install, OEM+ fitment. Ride quality, handling and braking were noticeable improved after install. I waited roughly 10K miles before posting a review to make sure it would be as accurate as possible. I have a 100 mile round trip to work each day that spans urban streets, highways, and rural roads, tow a 26 foot travel trailer and let me tell you this suspension is noticeable better than the factory struts and shocks.
