About this item

  • PURE SINEWAVE CONVERSION: Engineered for system-level integration with Morningstar charge controllers, Morningstar's SureSine Classic Power Inverter delivers DC/AC conversion with pure sinewave output. It ensures clean and stable power for sensitive electronics, while the fanless convection cooling system enhances efficiency and reliability.
  • ADJUSTABILITY & COMMUNICATION: This inverter features four DIP switches for easy system parameter adjustments. Additional customization is possible via Morningstar's USB MeterBus Adapter (UMC-1) and free 3rd-party MODBUS software. IP-based communication, including SNMP, is enabled through Morningstar's Ethernet MeterBus Converter (EMC-1).
  • REMOTE CONTROL: Remote ON/OFF functions improves safety by making it easy to install the SureSine in an inaccessible location or enclosure. This reduces system cost by avoiding the need to add an AC safety disconnect to the system.
  • ELECTRONIC PROTECTIONS: Our systems feature built-in electronic protection against surges, short-circuits, overloads, and reverse polarity. They include high voltage and high temperature disconnect to safeguard against damage to electrical components. Advanced self-diagnostics alert users to installation or operational errors, while automatic recovery ensures continuous protection.
  • TRUSTED RELIABILITY: Morningstar Corporation is a US company established in 1993 and is a global leader in manufacturing PWM and MPPT solar charge controllers, inverters, and accessories. Renowned for the industry's lowest hardware failure rate, Morningstar provides dependable, innovative technology for advanced solar applications. Morningstar products include U.S. based Tech Support and are the top choice for mission-critical users.

I installed this inverter on my RV as part of a solar electrical system for the purpose of boondocking. I leave this on all the time for clocks, Videos, stereo, electric mattress pad. Has worked flawlessly and silently. It is in the forward basement in a fiver, under the bedroom. I used it based on the Handy Bob website, and glad I did. Purchased a new one for a home solar system to run TV, router , and lights during an outage.

After some disappointing results with cheaper inverters, I bought this one for my RV. It is quiet and rock solid. I would highly recommend it for anyone with an RV who needs AC power when dry camping. The 300 Watt unit was perfect for me, but Morningstar makes larger ones too.

I used this in a small trailer to provide AC when not connected to shore power. The inverter is silent but it is massive and the recommended wiring is not trivial. However, the inverter works well. I mounted a GFI wall socket and a close by enable switch for the inverter so that I didn't need to put inline switches in the high current path. Note that even if the converter is not enabled, you will get a spark when you connect DC due to initial charging of capacitors. I run a 275 watt dehumidifier from this inverter regularly and even though the inverter is mounted vertically, it does not get very warm.Update after a year: The inverter has been solid and silent. I've run a 275 Watt dehumidifier for a week just for a stress test. Zero issues. On a long trip right now and using this inverter to power laptops, Starlink, and various other AC devices.

The inverter failed after two and a half years. When I applied for a warranty return they told me that is only has a two year warranty when a five year warranty is advertised... This is criminal fraud. There are many inverters that are just as efficient for half the price. Getting a warranty return is like pulling teeth. Do not buy Morningstar products.

This is a beautifully crafted, well made product. It is not small. It is not light. Rather, it is built to provide clean power for many, many years. And this is exactly what I anticipate. I mounted this unit to a piece of pine which rests in the plastic bowl just above the spare tire in the back of my Subaru Forester (see photos). I now have A/C power at the flip of a switch in my car, to power lights, chargers, or a laptop.

Nice form and fit. Seems well built. It is too pricey as you do not get a GFCI breaker in it as you do with many others, like Samalex, for less $$$.

this inverter has been running for a few months on my solar system with no problems, and I would definitely buy it again. The auto sleep/wake mode can be a little finicky with loads around 1amp or 10watts. Sometimes my 9watt cree Led bulb will wake it up, and other times I have to add more load to wake it, but that's right on the edge of it's specified wake/sleep setpoint anyway so to be expected. It doesn't go to sleep while plugged into a killawatt meter. You can also manually wake/sleep with a switch. Overall a great little inverter that keeps chugging away 24/7. This pc is running on it right now, with the room light as well. No need for a 3kw inverter to run some led lights, tv, pc, etc. On a scope, the sine wave output had a little bit of an odd shape, but maybe all sine inverters do. Anyway, this runs everything just fine. -1 star because it annoys me that you can't see the 'AC on' led very easily, but then again once it's up and running you rarely have to look at it.
