About this item

  • Slow Release Water Automatically: The terracotta watering spikes will release water automatically. Thinner the spikes, faster the draining speed.
  • The plant watering devices is made from terracotta clay. The clay stake is porous. When you put the bottle full of water in the stake, it takes a little while for the water to soak through the porous clay. If the dirt around the stake is dry, the water automatically wicks from the clay into the dirt, and the water keeps wicking out into the dirt until the dirt is saturated with water, or until the bottle is empty.
  • Easy to Use with Long Neck Wine or Plastic Bottle. Firstly, dig a hole in the soil. Secondly, insert the watering stakes into the soil gently. Fill the bottle or wine bottle with water, connect the bottle with stakes and turn upside down.
  • The package includes 6 watering stakes. You could choose used wine bottle or long neck plastic bottle to be compatible with the stakes. The watering spikes are perfect tool for you to recycle the used bottle as well as free up labor.
  • Slow Release Watering Stakes for Vacation Use. There is no standard releasing time for the spikes. Usually 1 Litre of water could water about 7-10 days. It is designed to prevent overwatering and guarantee the watering when people go out for vacation.

They seem great but if you don't have long neck wine type bottles it doesn't hold the bottle and all the waste just dumps out.

These work well. It’s been hot here. When it’s in the 90s, my potted plants (esp tomatoes) will suck up a liter of water in a day. So if it’s hot and sunny, maybe not good for vacation. But they are keeping my plants from getting too thirsty and saving them from being overwatered too.

I used a bunch of these in my planter boxes to keep my vegetable and herbs happy. It is useful when you are away for a few days or it is really hot out. It does not replace water the plants but was helpful as a backup and to give the plants an extra boost and backup plan.

I wanted some type of watering device for my containers on the patio. This seemed like a great price and I decided to try them out. Of the 6, one was cracked when I opened the package. A second one broke as I tried to put it in the dirt. I didn't report it or complain so I don't know what the company's customer service would have done.I installed them, but not according to the picture, which I don't think would work. I dug them into the group and the top is just an inch above the soil. I have found the smaller sized Gatorade bottles work well in staying on. I have also used quart kefir bottles, but then won't always stay upright. In the hottest part of the summer, the water would be used in a day. (I'm in Arizona.) Now in the winter, it may last 2 or 3 days. I'm just not sure if the surface area below soil level is enough for the roots to really get a good drink. There are other watering devices that I have tried that seem to work a bit better. These might do in a pinch, but I would check others out first.

Son de barro o cerámica, no se que material es. Están cerradas totalmente y no hay una salida para el agua

We use these in our 4 hanging plants with one in each. These plants are water hungry and go through about 12 oz every 2-3 days max. Before the spikes, we were getting lots of wilting between waterings but now we have an easy and quick visual indication that we need to fill the water and we no longer have wilting or fear of washing out fertilizer through over-watering.We also use 4 of these in one barrel bottom container with 4 different heads/varieties of lettuce and with wine bottles for the water and can go a week or more before they need to be refilled. My only wish is that we could find a nicer bottle than a brown beer bottle for the weather containers in the hanging plants. The wine bottles look nice in the larger container but are too big for the hanging plants.

After a beastly summer in Texas, my plants were barely surviving. I had no problems with inserting these in the ground or pots, and they look terrific with my blue wine bottles (Bartenura Moscato)! I followed the directions and even soaked longer than suggested. Still, I’ve found I need to fill my bottles every 2-3 days, which is still a huge improvement over trying to water potted plants twice daily. Also, my plants are much healthier. I’m ordering more & highly recommend!

I was reservedly optimistic about these working, but so far they're doing exactly what they're supposed to do!! I have found these to be pretty sturdy, though I've been careful not to apply too much pressure. They are breakable, after all. Following other reviewers' suggestions, I inserted these into the soil when I planted up the pots. I then just take the bottle out to fill it and put it back (hold your fingers over the end so all the water doesn't come out). Very simple and effective! It already has kept my full sun pots watered for 4 days. Normally they would need watering at least once a day.

Item arrived quickly and all pieces were intact in form fitting styrofoam. I pushed to hard and broke one but that’s on me. They are terra cotta and so naturally a bit brittle. I have them in my garden outside. They work great and have held so far for several weeks. As for bottles I am currently using a large glass soda bottle and wine bottles and a gin bottle. All of them are between 500 and 750 ml and they all fit just fine in the spikes. I haven’t had a bottle that didn’t fit yet. They work a treat. Highly recommend. Planning on getting more for targeted watering especially with this drought and crazy hot summer we’re having.
