This would be good if all 6 ports charged batteries. Unfortunately only 3 ports worked. There was also something rattling around inside the charger. Maybe a loose part or screw. I'm returning and going to try another one to see if the next is better.

Third one I bought. We have 16 radios and this unit make it nice to cluster a work group of radios together in one place

I like it because it consolidates chargers and power cords AND wall warts that come with each radio. However you do have to make sure that each radio is seated properly in order for each radio to charge.PLEASE NOTE- If you are expanding your RDX line of radios and you have the RDU-series which is what this charger is designed for. THE RDU "DIRECT REPLACEMENT" RADIO THE RMU-series will NOT FIT. The RMU is basically the same but completely different. Different battery, different charger, different programming cables needed, the clip isn't built in, the channel knob is easier to accidentally change. I much prefer the RDU and have bought additional radios on ebay that are new for much cheaper.

Works fine for what we need. We only have 2 radios and not 6. Which is a good thing since the front one no longer charges. However, we do work in a highly dusty and dirty environment. Charges the radios really quick.

This charger is absolute garbage. I purchased 4 radios and this charger. I noticed that the charger lights would turn green either immediately or within a few minutes of dropping in the radio (green means its charged and red means its charging). I didnt think anything of it except I noticed my radios would randomly shut off during the day. I sent the radios back assuming there was something wrong with them and got a brand new set. Sure enough, this problem continued, so I ruled out the radios. I noticed that if I used the small chargers that came with the radios, they worked fine all day without any problems. So putting 2 + 2 together with the lights on the RLN6309, I figured the charger itself must be bad. I sent the charger back to Amazon and they were gracious enough to replace it. The second brand new unit came to me and it was even worse. I never get a red light at all. It does not charge the radios in any capacity and the new unit was worse than the bad one I originally got.Motorola's quality on this is horrible. Motorola has always been known for lasting quality and this certainly does not live up to its name on this. They went cheap, and delivered an awful product without quality control and true unit testing. If I could get a refund on this, I would, but unfortunately I'm outside my ability to do this :-(PROs: Cloning works as advertisedCONs: Doesn't charge and is completely useless to get your radios in working order.Steer clear of this product - Caveat emptor!

The advantage of the drop-in charger type is that it provides a place for the radio to sit in an upright position instead of just laying down on a surface. The drop-in charger provides a less cluttered appearance.

This charger works good, not great in that sometimes you have to wiggle a radio to get it to initiate the charge. However this is once a week, so not a big deal.It saves a TON of space compared to the individual chargers, so its worth it to me!
