Seems to work fine. Difficulty finding replacement sponges on Amazon.

The product description wasn't translated from German to English and "distilled water" isn't "distillcht wasser" so I didn't pick that up before purchasing. However the instructions on the packaging is in English so Amazon.de messed up.There being so many 2-way humidifier packs out there I didn't think it would require a distiller (150 euros minimum or some intricate DIY solution). So yeah, no. I might be naive but let's be real here: There are plenty cheap room humidifiers and hygrometers to prevent guitar wood to shrink. A guitar case isn't airtight, it slows moisture transfer so a good room humidity above 40% should be enough as long as you keep it away from dry spots. So I'm not putting a dripping sponge in there, distilled or not. The hygrometers near the cases will dispell the worries and show that I don't need this product.Might be unfair to downrate the product because of my ordinary use case and the untranslated store page, but climate solutions are only as good as their application and the clarity in which they present themselves in the store.

This sponge needs distilled water. This is easy to get and inexpensive. It soaks up a lot of water and is much less drippy than that of a similar product I've bought. It also comes with a holder you can stick to your case. This is probably a more useful feature for rectangular electric guitar cases. In my classical guitar case, the humidifier sits safely beneath the neck.

This is the second of these that I have purchased. Easy to use. I had purchased a different brand years ago & found the sponge too small. This model is much larger. This seems to work well, although I gave 4 stars only because a bigger sponge would be better.

Recently I was lucky enough to receive a Martin acoustic guitar which sounds and plays incredible. However with any quality thing, you need to take care of it. My music room was a less than ideal humidity, sitting at just under 25%. Storing the guitar outside of its case became pretty risky so I decided to order these for the guitar case. They raised my guitar’s humidity from about 28% to 43-45% in about two days. The instructions are very clear and linear. If you care about keeping your instruments safe and humidified, definitely consider getting one or two of these to keep inside of the case. It’s a no brainer!

Well made, looks good, both velcro and a slip holder which in my case slips onto the neck security strap in my reunion blues voyager. I doubt the velcro will work : there is no way in hell the sticky backed piece will hold when wrenching them apart - the velcro is extremely strong! For the money, it's a no brainer and beats the hell out of the D'Addario equivalent for roughly the same coinage. Update: the velcro sticky backed part does indeed hold... for now ;)

Unlikely to need this in the UK unless you really crank the heating up but I got one during the hot weather just in case. Better be prepared rather than find a good guitar damaged by being kept in a too dry environment. Use with a humidity meter when humidity falls below the lower limits recommended for your instrument. Put it away (do not use it) when humidity is within recommended limits or higher. Quite compact and fits easily into a hard guitar case.

It's ok, seems to be working. The sticky tape that is supposed to hold the sponge-case in your guitar case absolutely does not work at all. Not even in the slightest. I have a standard acoustic case with plush lining, nothing different than any other case and that tape doesn't hold literally, at all.Placing the sponge-case in between the strings is another option, but it really stretches the two middle strings significantly. I wish the case was a little narrower to solve this problem. The sponge itself is narrow enough, but the sponge-case is too wide for that application.I bought this to put it in the case, and without the sticky tape there is no way to hold it upright in the case.Update - after using for a few days, and using only distilled water the sponge got moldy. Not sure how to avoid that, but disappointed that the mold appeared so quickly. It did seem to re-humidify my guitar, but I don't know that I want a moldy sponge inside the case

I've been using a combination of a Kyser humidifier in the soundhole, and a Herco HE360 up by the headstock. These are both fine products, but I've never found them ideal - particularly the Kyser, and here's why: in a perfect world, a humidifier sponge would have maximal absorption capacity, and minimal chance of leakage/damage to an instrument. As I said, the Kyser model I have works well, but there are two major complaints: 1) the sponge is very thin, and doesn't absorb much water. 2) Because the sponge is facing down into the inside of your guitar, you must always err on the side of caution, and be sure that most of the water has been squeezed out. For me, this meant re-saturating the sponge every 4-5 days. When I saw the claims made by Music Nomad (sponge holds 10X its own weight, and doesn't drip), I was skeptical, to say the least. It sounded like phony marketing hype. I decided to try both the soundhole and case models anyway, and am I ever glad I did. The sponge really does absorb a massive amount of water, and excels at retaining it. I squeeze just a little bit of water out, and the sponge doesn't drip. And even if it did,, because there are no holes in the bottom of the humidifier, your instrument would still be safe. I also use distilled water - as they recommend - to lessen the chances of the sponge getting moldy. The sponge material they use is absolutely amazing. I've just hit the 2-week mark, and the sponge is still a little damp! I can't sing the praises of Music Nomad's humidifiers enough. It was money well spent. I contacted the company with a small issue, and received a rapid response, and great customer service. I highly recommend these Music Nomad humidifiers, with no hesitation.
