I've now purchased these 3 times (over many years) so I guess that means they get 5 stars 😀. These hold up well in my outdoor planter and keep the birds away from my vegetables. Pretty and practical. I do need to place them on steel stakes to keep them firmly planted.

These pinwheels are what we were looking for to decorate our vegetable garden and, we hope, deter some pests.Unfortunately, two of the pinwheels were distorted such that they wouldn't turn. Not clear whether that was a packaging (they came by mail in a bag) or manufacturing issue. However, the vendor quickly responded to a complaint about the non-working pinwheels by sending us a box containing 5 more. That is good customer service that we appreciate.

I used these only to solve a bird problem and they worked great. I had birds landing on both my driver and passenger side pooping on top of the mirrors and also the windows. I tried some of the other solutions recommended out there (fake snakes, other shiny objects) but the birds just mocked me and kept landing on my car.As you can see in the picture that I attached, I used Velcro straps wrapped around the outside mirrors to hold the pinwheels down by their plastic stem. Unfortunately the Velcro was stretchy so I also had to use a clip to keep the pinwheel from moving too much when the wind was blowing it. The wind really makes them spin, but even on days that were not windy I had no birds at all. I would put these on both sides whenever I was parked in the driveway and after 2 weeks of pinwheels, I stopped putting them on. I have not seen any evidence of the little poopers on my car even after removing them. I call this a success and a fairly inexpensive solution with no harm caused to any bird. These come preassembled and they are sturdy and ready to use when you take them out of the bag.

These spinners are regular size,... the exact size you see at the 99 cent store or Dollar Tree stores. They are stapled together and the material that the spinners are made is typical, but they really sparkle. I purchased these to place at my mom's grave site throughout the year -- adding them to artificial flowers. I most likely overpaid for these. I gave 3 stars because the spinners do sparkle, they arrived in a timely manner, and they do look like flowers with the addition of the plastic leaves towards the bottom. But again, I most likely overpaid for these since they were the typical regular size we find at the discount stores.

I bought the assorted color pack. These are very beautiful pinwheels and look great in my sunny backyard. The blades and sticks (straw-like) are thick and sturdy. They came packaged in one large bag that was in a large Amazon box so I thought they'd all be good. There was no way they were damaged in transit, yet one was broken. I hoped a connection had just popped open but no, the actual center peg was broken off. So of course I'm pretty angry that I lost $2+ on a broken pinwheel.Update: I used the wheels in my yard for a summer and a half, taking them down for the winter. One broke by the end of last summer and all were beginning to fade from constant sunlight and weather. I am very pleased! They held up beautifully and and were a lovely addition to my yard. We have several small trees protected by chicken wire cages and I laced them through the gaps, which kept them from moving. This year the cages will likely come down so I’ll find another spot for the next batch that I ordered today!

I am an absolute sucker for anything shiny. It used to be a family joke, when the kids wanted to get their way, they'd chant, "I'll give you something shiny....." Every spring I would put out fresh Wham-O holographic pinwheels in all my planters. I can't find them anymore, so I had the bright idea of checking Amazon, crossed my fingers, and bought two or three packs of these. These pinwheels are awesome! Better than the Wham-O ones I doted on for years. The colors are brilliant, they spin freely in the slightest breeze, the holographic effect is... shiny. Woot! I have a pinwheel in every planter, and put the remainder in a vase til I need them. It's like a happy happy vase of color. I think I almost like the vase full of them better than having them in the planters. They've been out for a couple of months now, in both covered and fully exposed planters, and no fading, no brittleness, and the price was most certainly agreeable. If you love frivolous, colorful, kitschy, totally useless eye candy, you will love these. I'd give these ten stars if I could. Check my other reviews and buy some of the little spring loaded butterflies from another seller, and you can just OD on giddiness.

I bought these last fall and attached them to my balcony rail to scare the pigeons. They're gorgeous in the sun, and ended up out there all winter (Canadian winter) and survived very nicely. None broke. I did lose one but only because it went over the balcony and down into the backyard, never to be seen again! Very sturdy, a good buy.

Just received 2 packages of the Mylar Pinwheel Spinners today and couldn't wait to stand them in two flower pots filled with dirt. They are beautiful and spin they do. I have flowers, hanging wind spinners, and one hanging hot air balloon on our front patio but wanted more color for the tables. I was looking for wind spinners that you can stake in the ground and saw these pinwheel spinners and after reading mostly positive reviews, I decided to give the pinwheels a whirl. So glad I did and a second set on standby for back up of damaged pinwheels. They are about 8-inches in diameter and the plastic stakes are about 12-inches tall. They are not too fragile but I imagine constant desert sun and wind gusts will do them in and so I am prepared to move them back on the patio out of constant sun and windy conditions.
