The handle is made from what seems to be a lower quality wood. After only a month the head is pretty loose, it also keeps water after washing. I wouldn't recommend for commercial kitchen use. You get what you pay for, it was only $12. Spend the extra $5 and get the darker handle mallet if you're looking for a wood handle.This is more of a home kitchen tenderizer.

This is chinesium at its finest! the handle doesn't fit the hollow Aluminum head.. and Aluminum isn't a good metal for this task.this is for food service and It just doesn't measure up.

This meat tenderizer hammer broke after the first use! It's also bigger and heavier than I thought it would be. I am not happy with it, but it just seemed like too much trouble to return it. Giving it one star overall is a gift.

This thing is huge, it tenderizes meat very quickly and easily. But the handle has some chips and wear n tear on it- it doesn't seem new. It does the job, but that bothers me.
