This NinjaBatt kit comes with everything you need, and there are plenty of instructions out there on YouTube and elsewhere on the how-to of the process. Having just installed it, I am unable to vouch for the service life of the battery. This replacement battery does have a one-year warranty (which is somewhat unusual), and my last replacement battery gave me three years before the charge capacity couldn't meet my limited needs for cordless operation - so, I'm hopeful for a good, long life.This is the second replacement I have done on my A1708 MacBook Pro, so my learning curve was less steep. If you like your laptop, want that battery functionality (eg, you can't afford to have the thing shut off everytime the cat yanks the plug), and have some basic mechanical skill and hand dexterity, I encourage you to undertake a battery change. Take your time (plan for a couple of hours), don't feel rushed, and use the online resources to help walk you through it. You can do this!

I chose Battery Ninja.Worth mentioning- for the install, make sure have great lighting and pay attention to detail when disconnecting the ever so small ribbon cables for the touchpad and battery bms connections.MacBook monitors the battery's voltage, current, temperature, and state of charge (SOC).Safety and ProtectionThe BMS plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and longevity of the battery. It prevents overcharging, over-discharging, and overheating, which can lead to battery degradation or even fire hazards.Preventing Bad Batteries from Working:If the BMS detects that a battery cell is faulty or has degraded significantly, it may prevent the battery from being used or charging completely, or it may limit the maximum charge level to protect the system.Battery Health Indicator:You can often check the battery health status in macOS by holding down the Option key and clicking on the battery icon in the menu bar.

I'm really impressed with this battery, it comes with everything you need to replace your battery, including gloves to wear and tools to help you open the back of the computer. I will say that I don't think replacing the battery on a MacBook Pro is a DIY project, these are not like the old school MacBooks that had batteries that easily popped out. It's a very intricate process and unless you know what you're doing you're liable to break something.Having said that, this kit has everything you need.

This battery was easy to install with a ifixit video and I would recommend buying it if you need a new battery for your MacBook. This is because I had a failing battery and I didn't want to pay apple the price because they usually want to replace the whole top case which is expensive and I could just buy a new MacBook then. Great product.
