This is a great little kit and has everything that you need to get started when wiring up a NMEA 2000 system. I used this to upgrade the electronics on my old/1980 sailboat and it works well. Once you establish the "backbone" of the system (this kit), it is very easy to expand by adding "T" sections which allow you to add even more NMEA 2000 compliant devices (chartplotter, GPS, VHF radio, auto pilot, engine sensors, etc.).

This kit is perfect for anyone looking to upgrade their NMEA 2000 system! I used it to connect my Simrad GPS to my VHF radio, and it made the installation super easy. The quality is great, and it has everything you need to expand your system later on. If you're diving into marine electronics, this is a must-have—definitely worth the price!

This kit is what I needed to attach my Garmin GPS to my VHF Marine radio. My radio has AIS (Automatic Identification system) which will broadcast my position to other vessels. And if I hit the distress button, it will broadcast the name of my vessel and my GPS coordinates to the rescuers. The radio needs the signal from my Garmin fish finder/GPS for this to work. The new NEMA 2000 system makes connecting devices much easier than the old system. This kit had everything I needed to finish my installation.

This is just what you expect a NMEA 2000 starter kit to be. PERFECT!

However many NMEA cables you already have, it's not enough, so get this kit with a selection of fittings for your next NMEA project. It works like my Lowrance-branded cables at a fraction of the price. Good buy.

This seems to work fine, and it is much less expensive than the brand name cables. I don't have any testing equipment, so I can't vouch for the signal quality, speed or shielding. I'll just have to see how it holds up over time.

I used it to add a position sensor to my simrad Go . Simple connections, well made, and connected perfectly with the Tee that came with the antenna kit. Doesn't seem to be any better or worse than higher priced parts.
