The battery was as easy to install as you could reasonably expect. I had some trouble prying the case apart per instructions but eventually got it. I didn't have any problems with the supplied screwdriver(s), but you do have to push down while turning in order to prevent stripping it/them. The instructions don't state which way the socket plugs into the circuit board, but it seemed to be keyed and only fit one way. My only complaint is that the new battery rattles around in the case after installation because it doesn't have the sticky tape around it like the original and I find that rather annoying. I haven't used it yet, but it seems to be charging OK. I think some reviewers who complain that the new battery doesn't hold a charge might be leaving their Garmins on low power instead of turning them off all the way (by not pressing the power button long enough to get the 'Turn Off the device?' message).

I was changing the battery on my Garmin Drive 52LM. My model required removing the circuit board so I could get access to remove the battery plug. This step was not in the video, but I was able to finish the job because the kit included an extra screwdriver needed to remove and replace the board. Everything I needed was in the kit. Great job New Power 99.

The Garmin 52 slowly drains the stored charge in the battery or it does not hold much. However, once charged the Garmin 52 works well and is good for a few days.

Battery was easy to replace with tools provided, but after giving battery full charge I turned GPS on two weeks later and the battery is almost dead. Doesn't seem to hold a charge.

It was easy to install but it WO'NT take a charge, it is totally useless and a waste of money.

The tools included worked great and made installation a snap. The battery has a full charge on it when it arrived and my GPS started working as soon as I turned it on.

The battery comes with 2 different sized screwdrivers, depending on the size of the screws to open the case of your specific model. Make sure you use the screwdriver with the snuggest fit (not a loose fit) or you may strip the screws. When working with the screw driver to remove the screws, make sure to exert downward pressure so that the screwhead is not stripped when removing the screw (this is slightly counter-intuitive). The kit also comes with a plastic piece needed to pry open the case once the screws are removed. Once the case is opened, the battery removal and re-installation is simple and the battery worked fine. Just snap the case back together and re-insert and tighten the screws.
