The actual product was easy to assemble. The frame didn't want to fit into the suction cups very well, but eventually everything worked out as far as putting the net together. Once in the water, the frame kept falling out of the suction cups, or the suction cups would let go of the glass. I went back and made sure the glass surface was clean, but the suction cups still did not hold. I ended up having to clamp the netting onto the side of my tank with a small clip. Once the guppy fry were put into the net, I'd have to recollect them from the tank. The holes are large enough for the fry to get out for the first few days, and if you're not watching for them in the rest of the tank, they might become fish food for something bigger.

Super easy set up, very sturdy and the suction is great. Exactly what I was hoping for. Well worth the money.

Functional at a fair price. No so sturdy, but it doesn't need to be. Use care with assembly and placement. Once in the tank, you're good to go! Very effective suction cups

Relatively simple to assemble. It’s a little flimsy but for an inexpensive fry net, I expected as much. My only qualm is that the net gapped on the bottom of the frame and I lost a few fry (angel fish fry) because they got stuck in this gap and couldn’t get out & died. I tried tightening the gap but wasn’t able to. Also, and again as expected, the baby brine shrimp that I feed the fry seeps right through the mesh netting. We eventually ended up switching to a different slotted plastic fry container & I feel it works better.

It performs well. But I had to keep fastening it onto the suction cups. It also gets dirty pretty quickly which can then cause water to not circulate well through the netting. The dirt is dark and unsightly.

I had a hard plastic breeder that my previous fry swam out of. With that being the case I was hoping this breeder would fair better. From the beginning: The frame is plastic and had extra plastic from the molding process around where you assemble the vertical posts. This required a little bit of extra force to get the frame together which in the end caused the very cheap square frame to snap. This wasn't the worst thing, but I wasn't a fan. The breeder was still usable for sure with only 1 of the sections partially broken. The suction cups were fine and I had no complaints about them or their functionality. The netting seemed ok but when I add the fish eggs to the assembled product 1/3 of them fell through the netting, then some under the square framing. The eggs were for what would end up being 6" cichlids and I'm sure there are smaller eggs for small community fish. Quickly I grabbed my old hard plastic breeder to address this issue and was able to salvage some of the fry. I decided to loose the frame and place the netting around the old breeder to try and catch the fry that did hatch and swim out into the community tank they were in. This ended up giving me the same result were it seems that fry was still able to swim out from the old breeder and now past the netting from this breeder. All together this product was a major let down, and was not able to perform the functions in which I had bought it for. I would not recommend this breeder at all so keep on looking. It's cheap and failed to perform it's 1 job.

Try not to break it in 15 seconds like me.

NOTE: Im using this for an injured fish, not hatchlings.Assembly was easy, it is pretty sturdy, and works perfectly for my 1inch fish who got its tail eaten off my by larger goldfish. It allows the tiny oxygen bubbles to go through which is the probably I had with my previous clear fry container. The larger fish(6in) also dont bother him either. Suction is great even when the larger fish brush past it when swimming.

One of my fish become hyper aggressive beyond the norm to the others in the tank, so I had to separate him until I have time to set up a tank for him to avoid carnage. In winter it's not that easy because tanks need a heater, and December is so hectic that I don't have time for a major tank set up until after the holidays. This is a great way to keep him in the original heated and ph adjusted water he's acclimated to until I have time to do him justice. It is also amusing to see how the other various other fish he terrorized relentlessly now fish "trash talk" him. They slowly approach his new penthouse pad, then sassily saunter along the long side wall of this net box. It drives him crazy so he darts up and down and tries to attack them through the mesh but it's good and strong. Then they saunter off looking as smug as a fish can. Fish have some of the best personalities. He's only an inch long so while this isn't ideal it's comfy enough for the short term. The product is well made, easy to assemble and good quality materials. I might just have to get another as something this useful is good to have two.
