I grabbed this drawer because it fits my office color scheme perfectly. The color is really nice and the quality of materials is really high. It is pretty heavy, especially compared to something that looks similar from a store like Walmart or Target. It still uses pressed board, but it is very thick and sturdy. The packaging is very efficient, but again, don't be mislead by the size; it is very dense and heavy.I was very impressed with the quality of the manual. This was clearly written by someone very proficient in English; in fact, I am assuming it was written in the USA. The book is thick because there's a lot to do, but it's very straightforward and the manual makes it super clear. I put on a movie and put this together over the course of about 1.5 hours, but you could definitely do it faster if you didn't let yourself be distracted. A helper is nice, but not really necessary. The locking mechanism is really nice; it locks the bottom two drawers very securely.I only have a few real complaints. First, it uses wood dowels and turn locks to lock it together, but the dowels and locks fit VERY snug. I had to get a rubber mallet out to force everything into place and sometimes I worried it would break. I wish the manual would call for using a rubber mallet; it does call for a hammer, but only for the dowels; a mallet would work for the dowels as well as pushing it into place. Another minor nitpick is the thickness of the drawer bottoms. Everything else is super thick, but the bottoms are really thin. In fact, I thought they were simple packaging material to separate larger pieces. Lastly, I wish the caster wheels were a bit higher quality. It works, but it feels cheap compared to the rest of the unit.Overall I'm giving this 4/5 stars. I quite like it, but I'm not sure it's the best value. If you have to have a very sturdy drawer then great, but you could probably get something that looks just as nice and is just as functional for half the price (although it probably is also half the strength).

This is a really nice filing cabinet/drawer set. The finished build looks great and it is heavy and sturdy. The drawers open smoothly and shut securely.I am not sure what is wrong with some other reviewers who claim this takes hours and hours to assemble. It took me about 30 minutes while watching TV. This is no harder to assemble than any other disassembled furniture. Iti in fact is easier than most as lots of the securing screws (twiest locks) are already installed for you.Bizarrely, I got this same cabinet in a different color and that one arrived fully assembled (except the drawer handles). Not sure why the hudson elm does not get that same treatment. All in all very satisfied.

Gosh, I have a really hard time rating this for so many reasons. Fortunately, we did not have as many issues with assembly as many others appear to have had but it still seemed unnecessarily tedious. The piece looks great once assembled, the drawers are very smooth, the finish looks nice, it's sturdy, and it appears to be made in the USA which is an added bonus. However, for nearly $300 I don't want to spend 1.5-2 hours assembling a tiny filing cabinet and the piece should not be particle board. Granted, it is pretty tightly pressed and dense but at this price point I would expect solid wood and some of the more tedious assembly tasks to have been already complete so I would only need to do the finishing touches on (i.e. less than 30 minutes). To be fair, they do offer a fully assembled version of this for a shade over $400 which is ridiculous. The instructions were pretty decent but, just like the assembly, were tedious in spots.Pro tip: use a rubber mallet and not a hammer when needing to secure pieces with the dowels.Would I recommend? Yes, it's a very nice piece but there is no reason this should be over $150 tops.

I do not recommend this filing cabinet. Several parts were broken upon arrival or broke within the first 15 minutes of arrival. It's taken me 45 minutes to put together 2 sides of this filing cabinet. It's a pain in the @$$ to assemble! I'm trying to put the 3rd side on and the holes for the wooden dowels and "Twist Lock Fasteners" do not match up, so now there's a gap on one corner. So very frustrated with this. It comes with over 136 pieces (including hardware) that must be pieced together. The instruction manual is not very clear either. It doesn't help that some of the hardware pieces (the drawer slides) are preassembled, then you have to disassemble them in order to screw them on to the wood, then assemble them again. The listing price for this item is $284. For that price this needs to come preassembled. IF I can finish assembling this it will cost me more than that on time spent assembling it. I've assembled many pieces of furniture and this is, by far, the most difficult and frustrating yet.Side note- you will need tools that are not included in the box (wrench, hammer and screwdriver)
