My hex bar arrived in only a few days after ordering on Amazon. It arrived nicely protected in layers of cardboard wrapped around each part of the metal bars then covered in soft packing and finally wrapped tightly in clear wrap. The bar is incredibly sturdy and I assume lives up to the rating of 1000#. This piece will make a great addition to my home gym. I like the smaller footprint compared to full length 45# olympic barbell. The 'etched' handles add to the comfort in using.

Odds are you know how much hex bars cost. I did the black finish and has held up very well after months of use. Some scratches on the ends from loading plates but to be expected. It does it job and a great price. Was packaged amazingly well. Only gripe would be very passive knurling but can be fixed with some tape on the handles if desired.

The sturdiness and durability of this bar are impressive for the price point. I am happy with that aspect and confident loading 400 pounds on the bar. Two aspects of the design are essential to know if you are considering buying this bar. The handles are knurled but skinny and feel slick, making the bar challenging to hang on to during the lifts. Compared to other bars I have used I feel a sense of the bar slipping down my fingers during my sets, and I often worry I will drop it. I wrapped the handles in tape, which did the trick, but I prefer the feel of a knurled, metal grip. If you prefer a large grip or have sweaty hands, this is important to know. The second aspect is the sleeve length where the plates are loaded. The sleeves are 9" compared to the 16" of my Olympic bar, and with safety collars, even loading three bumper plates is dicey. To load the bar, I use one bumper plate and then use standard plates to add weight. Make sure your needs can be accommodated by that length.

The box looked a bit rough but the bar itself was fine inside. It was suspended in corrugated cardboard standoffs. The paint and finish was good.I am taller (6'03") and weight about 200 and I have no problem setting my feet just outside of shoulder width. That said, if you are wider than me or trying to go wider, you may touch the interior of the frame as I only have few inches to spare. I think it measured just under 24 inches inside, so if your stance puts the outside edge of your leg under that, it should work for you.I like that it was more compact, only weighed 45lbs like a standard Oly bar and I would say the knurling was "light" but adequate. I have no plans to go beyond 315 but estimate you could go 4 plates to a side and hit 405 depending on your collars. If that's you, you will probably want straps, chalk, or a more aggressive bar.If you just want another way to squat without loading above the hips or deadlift with less risk or even get prepped for the Army ACFT, this is a very good choice.

Overall, I'm pleased with this trap bar. It's cheap, sturdy, and sized appropriately for my plates and bar clips. That's really all I need! However, it would have been nice if the trap bar were packaged and protected a bit better for shipment. Upon delivery, I was surprised to find the trap bar having been wrapped in nothing more than a felt blanket. No box or other packaging to speak of. The trap bar already bore several scrapes, dings, and dents, and sported a spotty paint job. As I say, all I need the bar to do is fit my plates and move weight, but it would have been great if the bar weren't so banged up upon arrival. Still, it does the job and I'm satisfied.

This hex bar was built strong! Way better than I thought, do to the price and reviews from the 1 star review section. As you can see the hex bar is painted solid black and is true to its Olympic size and can feel that it weighs 45lbs. I’m shocked that it was selling as low as it is because it is the real deal hex bar you would use in a commercial gym!

I was looking for a Bar to do Shrugs with then found this one priced lower than most all others so I took a Shot, thinking if it was Cheap I'd send it back. I am impressed it is a sturdy (1000 capacity) bar. It doesn't have bearings/ swivels but they are not needed for what I do. It is bar far better made than the ones that bolt together (many priced higher).I doubt I will ever max out what this can do. I Am very happy with it, I don't usually leave many reviews. Mine is Black the Chrome one would be nice however it's not about how it looks it's how it works and for that I give it a 5.

Excelente producto ! Se siente de muy buenos materiales . Lo único es que tardó casi un mes en llegar. Pero vale la pena por el precio

If you want an item that is free from damage then don’t order this bar. The bar arrived with various bits of damage, scuffing, missing paint etc. The bar looks as if it is almost second hand and the damage hasn’t been caused in transit. Having said this, the bar overall feels quite sturdy and if it wasn’t for the poor finish and damage, it would be a good product. Overall,I probably wouldn’t recommend as I get the feeling that the bars come like this as standard.
