It's an oil filter, no idea what's going on inside. Correct OEM part number and they seem to be fine as always. Fast shipping, no doubt will purchase again when needed.

Cheap, cheap, cheap! As in price. Same quality as any other garden tractor oil filter, but costing 50% or less and 2 pack allows to have a spare for the next season without need to run to the store.

I use these on a Kohler Courage V-Twin mounted on a Cub Cadet Z-Force zero turn lawn mower. They're terrible to replace due to position on the tractor, but the filters themselves have held up well, come with a dust shrink wrap in a ziplock bag and I had no problems with the gaskets.
