The part is well made & looks great, but is much thinner than most 3/32 cogs. My chain line is straight but still threw the chain in 3 separate races under full power. Tightened the chain each time, almost no sag but still dropped. I think with a tensioner it would be fine or maybe a different chain, I use a KMC X9. Switched to a Shimano cog, same chain & alignment, no drops.

Used this for a 9sp to single speed conversion and it is designed for 3/32 size chain. Works great.

Time and time again I find myself buying origin8 parts for my mountain bikes. Set this up SS and it works flawlessly

The best part of this cog is the wide base. Not only engages better on the free hub but also prevents tearing the splines. At the same time, it isn't gonna move sideways compromising the flimsy spacers. Here I mixed some aluminum and steel ones. The cog is fixed in place with a regular Shimano lockring. Steel is always better to keep things where it should.

Not sure why this has a few bad reviews. I am using this on my Giant mountain bike that I’ve converted to single speed. Not only that, it has a 750watt befang enumerated conversion. This cog is holding up fine to all the torque that my electric motor can deliver. Fit well, works well.

I bought this SS cog so I could run a deore freehub wheelset on my single speed '85 Rockhopper street bike. I figured, for the money, it would be just ok. I've run it for a few months and I'm very pleased with the strength and quality of the steel. Between the wide base and the tall teeth, it works much better than a conventional cog. I highly recommend it for people that are looking for strong single speed parts and don't wanna spend a ton of cash on name brands.

This isn't the lightest, or blingiest, or most expensive (or even least expensive) SS cog you can get, but it is durable, and it does get the job done. I wore one of these out, and replaced it with something that was supposed to be better, but that cog proceeded to fold on me while going through a technical rock section. So I'm back to one of these, and if it lasts the 800 miles or so the last one of these did, it will continue to be a great value.

Good product but I noticed it is leaving gashes in my freehub. All the posts about converting a multi-speed to single speed say to use a cog with a wider base to prevent this but it still seems to be happening. The ride is great and so far no chain skipping, so I am happy with the performance.

Looks good but does not perform well, I dropped the chain on 4 occasions in a cyclocross race under different circumstances.Needs to be made with taller teath and beafier material
