I bought this to remove the fan clutch on my f150 this thing seems like it will handle anything but sadly it's weak and will bend. The locking mechanism won't even lock in to grab the bolts all the way. Avoid I return it. I got the giant 57mm wrench adapter with the 36 mm wrench those worked way better as the 57 goes around all the bolts

Strong enough to get the job done, makes the job a lot easier with the right tool.

Terrible. The teeth designed to hold the tool in place are the weakest piece of metal possible. It takes a decent amount of pressure when working with the clutch fan and the teeth don’t stand a chance. Just find a trusting garage and save time and money.

The OTC 4652 tool I received is different from the picture I ordered . It has the correct model number on the tool but it is a different design..The locking jaw end has a different design /bend and does not work with my car. The nuts on my car are recessed which is why I wanted this tool where the ends are recessed about an inch to grab on the bolts to lock. I could not get this tool to lock on the bolts to counter hold. Misleading picture.

Great Tool! FYI to potential buyers, the OTC 4652 is actually the same as the OEM TOOLS 27171 (same tool that you would rent at an auto parts store) and NOT what you see in the picture . It has the four holes on each fork and the hooks are long. I was surprised and happy because the one in the picture would be almost useless for most applications as the hooks would not be able to reach most bolt patterns. Someone earlier complained about the hooks spreading; the answer is physics. The easiest way to explain is if you take the tool and place it on the on the bolts with the ratchet facing TOWARDS the engine you have the tension on tool pulley going CLOCKWISE and the forks will NOT spread. To remove the 36mm (or so depending on vehicle) fan clutch nut you have to wrench it COUNTER CLOCKWISE; which means the tool work perfectly. If you set the tool on the pulley with the ratchet face AWAY from the engine, you will not be able to generate any tension as the ratchet releases. 90% of all user error when it comes to mechanics is someone doesn't know how to properly use a tool.

I am a big fan of OTC. This tool was well thought out, very functional, very well designed, and very tough. The size, length, and strength of the tool helps to make fan clutch removal a breeze. Works great on ford 6.8 ! Great price on Amazon.

Pretty good tool. I used it to hold a pulley on a 6.4L PowerStroke and it worked well. The ratchet does not intend to hold any force so you have to be sure that you're using the tool in the correct direction (like a wrench, they're designed to take torque only one way). The removed star is because it only came in a cardboard box unlike most OTC tools and the rental I tried before purchasing this one which came in a plastic box. Doesn't harm the function of the tool but makes it harder to store on the shelf neatly.
